Taigam's Trip to Kinkos

Commander / EDH WU (Azorius)

NAHS901

Hopefully some people reading this remember what a Kinkos was, and for those of you who dont:

Kinkos = Kinko's Inc. was, in 1995, the leading retail provider of document copying and business services in the world. Simply put it was a place to make copies.

First i have to start off stating that this list is based off the primer list off the main Commander Power Level List of Commanders page seen here: https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/taigam-xeroxcontrol/

Now then lets begin, upon seeing this list I immediately felt the need to make it better than just taking turns and beats with taigam. . .What happens if Taigam is removed/killed/exiled? What happen if they have blockers? From these questions, i have created the list you see above.

The premise of the deck is simple: Control your opponent out with counters and bounce spells until you can hit

Two return cards: Deja Vu / Relearn / Call to Mind / Not Forgotten / Sage's Knowledge

One take another turn card: Capture of Jingzhou / Temporal Manipulation / Time Warp

and enough mana to cast one of each a turn.

The simplest way i can describe this not so infinite/infinite combo is:

Step 1: Attack with Taigam (most likely not into blockers OR remove him from combat after declaring attacks with Maze of Ith or Reconnaissance . This will trigger Rebound "If the spell was cast from hand, it is exiled as it resolves. At the beginning of its controller's next upkeep, the player may cast it again without paying its mana cost." Which allows the spell to be recast and placed into the graveyard.

Step 2: Cast both a return card {returning anything it can target) and a take another turn card. Follow these casts up with anything else you'd like to add and don't forget to call out the rebound effect. (I place my rebound spells under Taigam so i can remember which ones were cast.)

Step 3: Continue to the next turns upkeep in which the rebound effect is triggered. From there you cast in order the take another turn card, followed by the return a card spell. you use the return card spell to return the take another turn card from your graveyard to your hand. Continue the rest of your upkeep by casting any other spells remaining with rebound.

Step 4: With another turn on the stack go to combat and swing again with Taigam (same as step 1)

Step 5: Repeat step 2 this time returning the return card (from the previous turn) to hand. RINSE AND REPEAT. . .

Laymens Terms:

"Cycle two Return target X from Graveyard to hand each turn every turn and Cast Take another turn after this one EVERY TURN."

The extra win and control cons in this deck besides Taigam are: Helm of Obedience + Rest in Peace (ONLY CAST REST IN PEACE IF YOU GUARANTEE WIN) Teferi, Hero of Dominaria Ult to remove boards Jace, the Mind Sculptor Ult to remove decks.

There is more to come as this deck is still a work in progress.
