VARINA, LICH QUEEN

Setting up

First thing you want to do is get some discard things going, such as Megrim, Liliana's Caress. Also Discard benefits for yourself, such as Bone Miser. Once this is done it’s time to get a few disposable zombie bois on the field.

Conjuring the dead.

Most fun part of this deck is the hordes of zombies. If possible have Annointed Procession, and Swarm Intelligence to get the most zombies. However, if you only have one of these out it’ll suffice. Casting Army of the Damned is my favorite, creating 26 or if you’re lucky-54 with the 2 enchantments out.

Now what the heck do you do with a ton of zombies? Well there are options. 1.Wayward Servant will drain the whole table and net you tons of life with ideal conditions of conjuring the dead. 2.Gempalm Polluter is another way to take out a player 3.Harsh Sustenance is similar to the latter, however you will also gain life. 4. Just straight up swinging with a butt ton of zombies-pretty straight forward.

Recycle

I found the deck would mill itself out. So I put in a couple of “shuffle graveyard into library” cards such as Echo of Eons-Which is playable and cheaper from graveyard-Emergency Powers, which also allows you to play something for free.

Strategies

First get some zombies, than cast Varina, Lich Queen and swing to start drawing and discarding. The idea is to just wheel until you get the good pieces to kill opponents.

Go the Megrim, Liliana's Caress route-and force opponents to discard and lose tons of life. Then finish off with some old fashion beat down.

Or wait it out, manufacture hordes of the undead, and drain/inflict damage to players for how many undead you control.

The choice is yours, and it’s very fun and dynamic to pick, more than likely you will be utilizing multiple ways of killing people to get the job done. I’ve found this deck to be a delight, and now I’m in love with making zombies. So hope you enjoy it as well.
