Taigam, Azorius Spellslinger

This deck uses low-cost draw spells to get value with Taigam, eventually using instant and sorcery draw payoffs, as well as extra turn spells that are extra brutal when rebounded.

Tips, Tricks and Combos

You can cast Instants after you declare Taigam as an attacker, but before blockers, or before damage.

• Azorius Charm or Swords to Plowshares can be used to remove a blocker that would kill Taigam, as well rebouding next turn.
• You can use Quicken to do this same trick with your sorcery removal effects such as Baral's Expertise .
• You can attack with Taigam, and before blockers use Evacuation to enable rebound and protect Taigam, as well as keeping the board clear until your next turn.

After the spell casts from exile, it enters the graveyard as if you cast it normally

• Relearn and Call to Mind combo with any extra turn spell to give you infinite turns.
• Metallurgic Summonings not only functions as a strong token generator but can return your extra turn spells to close out the game with those tokens.
• We can play powerful delve draw spells such as Treasure Cruise and graveyard payoffs Rise from the Tides .

Modal spells are the best thing

• Cryptic Command , Mystic Confluence , and Azorius Charm can all clear the way for Taigam, as well as countering spells or drawing cards, and still be useful on the rebound.
• Insidious Will and Supreme Will are extremely flexible counterspells that are also useful on a rebound.
• While technically not a modal spell, there is a trick with Rite of Replication . When it rebounds, you don't have to pay its mana cost of 4. But you still have the option to pay its kicker for 5 to get that effect, because it's an additional cost, rather than an alternative casting cost like Cyclonic Rift , which cannot be overloaded on its rebound.

Remember, instant and sorcery spells you control can't be countered by spells or abilities

• You don't need to hold up many Counterspell s to protect your win conditions, mainly to protect Taigam, and disrupt your opponents.
• Dovescape means your opponents all get birds INSTEAD of their non-creature spells, and you get birds AND your instant and sorceries because of Taigam, Ojutai Master 's first ability.
