Sydri, Rogue Artificer

Sydri nodded and started muttering, mostly to herself. "A psycho-audio lattice charm, easy enough, layered slowly, tuned to a specific person's energy... time and materials... custom design..." She scribbled a few notes on a piece of paper, then looked up. "A hundred and fifty thousand."

Rogue Artificer is a Sydri, Galvanic Genius deck, avoiding the standard combos with Sydri, and seeking deeper synergy. It's built to be resilient to removal, artifact hate, and board wipes while packing enough of its own to handle major threats.

The Deck

There are a few subthemes in the deck to consider.

There are 13 "Trinkets" (1 CMC artifacts, named for Trinket Mage, as well as Salvaging Station and Artificer's Intuition ). This features a lot of the pretty common hate cards in Modern sideboards and the like, as well as some repeatable removal ( Executioner's Capsule + Salvaging Station, for example). This helps Sydri lock down other degenerate strategies, infinite combos, and the like.
I think the interaction between Sydri and Blade of Selves is really interesting. There are several artifacts in the deck that are selected specifically for their ETB abilities. For example, Spine of Ish Sah, when animated and equipped with Blade of Selves is not just a 7/7 beater, but also an opportunity to destroy the biggest threats on the board.
One of the major themes of the deck is resilience to artifact hate, board wipes, and spot removal. There are a number of cards selected to either protect my board ( Teferi's Protection ), dodge removal or artifact wipes by bouncing to hand (gaining card advantage off of Paradoxical Outcome is particularly sweet), or recovering immediately from a board wipe ( Faith's Reward ).
Sydri has a number of interesting synergies with cards in this deck. Rite of Replication seems somewhat bad in this deck (given the limited number of creatures) until you consider replicating some key artifact. Caltrops is a standard synergy, as is Staff of Nin and Liquimetal Coating.
