Swing at me, you won't

Oathbreaker Mono-White

People like swinging at you, so why not just let them? Come on, swing at me. It'll be completely fine. Don't worry about Serene Master easily killing your biggest threat, or Loyal Sentry trading for any creature. Our opponents may not want to swing into us knowing they'll be losing their best creatures, which is why our oathbreaker gives them a bit of encouragement.

The oathbreaker for this deck is Gideon Jura , a planeswalker who forces our opponents to swing at him if they can, meaning they'll swing right into our board. The signature spell, Valor Made Real , allows one creature to block all attacking creatures it can. Now, why would we use something like this? Well, here are some reasons we might not mind our opponent hitting us.

  • Loyal Sentry , Alaborn Zealot , Abu Ja'far , Defiant Vanguard : These creatures kill anything they block. With valor made real, they kill every creature that attack us. These will dissuade opponents from swinging with their best creatures.
  • Cathedral Membrane : A worse version of the above cards, as it has defender and doesn't outright destroy the creatures it blocks, but in most cases it gets the job done.
  • Serene Master : This card switches it power with the power of the creature it blocks. This means it will always survive combat unless some trick is used. Do not use valor made real with this card.
  • Wall of Hope : This gains us life for all the damage it blocks. Throw a valor made real on it and we will be gaining a very large amount of life.
  • Stuffy Doll : Will deal all the damage it takes to one of our opponents. This is a great target for valor made real, and can even be used politically to hurt an opponent who is a bit too far ahead.
  • Brimaz, King of Oreskos : Makes a dude when he attacks or blocks, and has vigilance so he can attack and block.
  • Masako the Humorless : Allows our tapped creatures to block, so we can catch our opponent off guard if we attack them and tap out our creatures.
  • Wall of Glare , Guardian of the Gateless : These cards can block all our opponents creatures. Guardian of the Gateless is far better, as it grows for each creature beyond the first it blocks and has flying. Wall of glare isn't as strong, but comes out far earlier.

There are plenty of other creatures in the deck, as well as some "fun" noncreature stuff as well, but they are mainly there for value and I don't really feel like going over them. The goal of this deck is to force our opponents to attack us before they want to and capitalize on them leaving themselves open. If need be, Gideon Jura can be a 6/6 beater, which is relevant in a format with only 20 life.

Now, there are also some important questions to ask with decks like these. Is this deck good? Maybe. Does it have card draw and ramp? Technically. Does this deck have an actual wincon? Probably. But is it hilarious to wipe away someone's entire board with a 1/1 and valor made real? Yes.

If you know of anything that might help make this deck better, or would just be make it more fun, I am open to any suggestions.
