This is a list that I threw together with cards from a failed Jarad deck along with the remaining cards in my trade binders. This deck was inspired by a foil Hogaak that I pulled from a Modern Horizons pack.

At first, Hogaak just looks like generic beater with some weird key words stapled on him. However, his ability to be played from the graveyard (thus avoiding commander tax, unless he is exiled of course) and via convoke and delve really opens a lot of interesting lines of play. For example, imagine being able to play Korozda Guildmage with 6 lands out. You play Korozda Guildmage , sacrifice Hogaak to Korozda, and create 8 saprolings, while convoking 7 of them to replay your commander (or less depending on what's in your graveyard). This is a great way to get a massive board state, fast!

Other neat synergies, if you have a sufficient number of tokens and cards to delve away (sorceries, instants, lands, enchantments), you can play Disciple of Bolas , draw 8 cards and gain 8 life, while replaying you commander. Due to Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis 's convoke ability, this list runs a number of instants/sorceries/enchantments/creatures that generate tokens.
