Sultai Midrange... Naga Please.

Standard*

Peccavi

Sideboard

Sorcery (6)

Planeswalker (2)

Updated to include influences from Moran's top 8 Sultai deck. Don't scry about it.

An interesting balance of control and aggro. The backbone of the deck, like any green deck, is Courser of Kruphix and Sylvan Caryatid.

It's offensive creature base is made up of Rakshasa Deathdealer and Prognostic Sphinx

  • Prognostic Sphinx
  • Allows for a slow swinging win. This isn't a critical card, but could be a win con if the game starts to ebb in that direction. It also is hexproof, protecting it from many threats.
  • Rakshasa Deathdealer
  • Aqueous Form + Deathdealer. Despite its low mana cost, this card can easily be a wincon. Very difficult to remove due to Regenerate and has a great self pump.

Planeswalkers

  • Kiora, the Crashing Wave: A strong planeswalker that can slow the game down helping you get out Empty the Pits and yet whose ultimate can end a game. Not to mention her card draw mechanic is very useful.

  • Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver (Liliana Vess for control decks) : A planeswalker that will truly dominate the upcoming meta. With CMC on creature cards declining due to complicated mana structures, Ashiok will consistently put out big creatures for you as well as throw off your opponents deck.
  • Nissa, Worldwaker: A walking, talking wincon. Yes, her untap forests ability doesn't get to see use in this senario, but creating an army of lands is nevertheless valuable.

And if you get worried? Just keep saying no.

End Hostilities? Meet Dissolve/Negate.

Elspeth, Sun's Champion? Meet Hero's Downfall

Butcher of the Horde? Surrak Dragonclaw ? Polukranos, World Eater ?Murderous Cut, Thoughtseize, Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver

And now he is trying to kill your creatures?Regenerate
Rakshasa Deathdealer
Hexproof
Prognostic Sphinx
Sylvan Caryatid

Deck created before Tyler Moran's deck came out but his top 8 deck has certainly influenced later iterations of this deck. He certainly answered many questions especially if Nissa had a place in this deck and whether Sultai Charm was worthy.
