I had worked on a B/W Sublime deck, but thought of Talrand and the control of Blue and here is my new idea.
Will be trying this one out in the near future at local store. I have several decks I am working on, looking to have serious meta play with one of them.
I like the idea, only issue is similar to mine,deck:lambholts-blessings, the land has a high chance to enter tapped. I know you are going standard with it, so that takes shock lands out of the picture. Ethier way +1
I like the idea of Talrand's drakes coming into play to produce added exalted effects with a Sublime Archangel out.
A few thoughts:
1) So what creature type do you name with Cavern of Souls ? My guess is Angel, but your creature base is spread out across different types. You could name Wizard for Delver of Secrets Flip and Talrand, but then the angels are vulnerable.
2) Why Dissipate over Negate or Essence Scatter ? I get that it can target whatever, but if that's the case, why not step up one mana to Rewind ? Rewind can essentially be cast for free once you have the needed four. Given the other instants you have on the field, you could save the four, counter something, and then STILL play a Midnight Haunting or something on their turn.
3) Thought Scour is a great card. I honestly feel it's better than Gitaxian Probe ; but, if you're just looking for card drawing, Think Twice might be a better fit. Sure it costs one more to cast, but it has flashback for three and is also instant speed, letting you drop it (and subsequently flash it back) on your opponent's turn.
4) If you're really wanting to capitalize on the Sublime Archangel s the big combo I keep hearing about is to pair it with Infinite Reflection . You'd need to set things up with more creatures (as tokens sadly do not count for it), but that's another good option available here.
Either way, you're definitely onto something here. +1
I have 2 Cavern of Souls so that I can cover both wizards and angels, but usually will name Wizard due to the fact that Talrand can be much more dangerous in this deck at times that Sublime. I may just consider Rewind instead of Dissipate.
