Storm Troopers is a fun EDH deck (for me and only me!) that infuriates and annoys, but gets the job done! Loads of card draw, multiple spells cascading off each others and looooooong turns mean for frustrating turns for opponents who end up going to get a coffee while my Storm count begins to add up. This is my favourite EDH deck to play as it is both annoying and lethal.

Gameplan

Yidris, Maelstrom Wielder commands a mana rock deck, supported by a whole heap of free casting cards. Commander damage ensures a cascade, but when combined with Sunbird's Invocation shit gets crazy very fast. Consider the effect of casting Baral's Expertise on a cascade - thats a cascade for a 4-drop, then with that free cast thats another cascade for a 3-drop. However, with Sunbird's Invocation thats an additional FREE cast of a 5-drop (or less), a FREE cast of a 4-drop (or less). factor in Rishkar's Expertise and Yahenni's Expertise as well and this deck gets out of control real quick.

Paradox Engine works in tandem with Sunbird's Invocation to drive the deck, untapping permanents, mainly mana rocks every turn, as well as guaranteeing continual card draw. So with the continual cascade effect and the effect from Sunbird's Invocation, the dorks can pool a tonne of mana to run out a long turn and Storm into a Grapeshot kill, a Brain Freeze mill, a Volcanic Awakening land destruction or an Empty the Warrens goblin infestation. Rakka Mar can create a shitload of 3/1 Elementals with haste to finish off another opponent. Dangerous, efficient and fun (for me!).
