Deck testing Stiflenought with Lightning Greaves, Academy Ruins and
Not of This World
The main idea of this deck is to kill your opponent with
Phyrexian Dreadnought
or your other dreadful creatures as soon as possible.Your main ways of playing
Phyrexian Dreadnought
are countering it's activated ability with Stifle or Torpor Orb, which can be done at turn 2, either with two regular lands for Stifle and dreadnought or a normal land + Ancient Tomb for Torpor Orb and dreadnought. You can even attack at turn 2 already on an ideal situation if you manage to get a turn 1 Ancient Tomb+Lightning Greaves!
Hunted Horror and
Eater of Days
are here just to compose the combo to synergize with
Not of This World
, Unearth and mainly because they're fast and furious, no pun intended.
There's also the synergy between artifacts here, because Academy Ruins can save your ass if your opponent has a lot of artifact hate and bring back your
Phyrexian Dreadnought
,
Eater of Days
, Torpor Orb, Sensei's Divining Top or Lightning Greaves enabling you to recompose your failed combo with just one card!
As for drawing mechanics, I decided to go for Sensei's Divining Top instead of brainstorms and such to get advantage of the afore mentioned artifact synergy. As a secondary option, there's Unearth with cycling to help you out on situations of despair.
Toxic Deluge,
Echoing Truth
, Misdirection, Spell Snare and Force of Will are here to take care of the board and make you safe to play your combo or even respond to something.Which leads us to the sideboard, packing 3
Annul
for artifact heavy and enchantment decks, Leyline of the Void for some graveyard hate, Pithing Needle to get rid of those nasty planeswalkers and deathrite shamans,
Chill
and
Blue Elemental Blast
against red and
Extirpate
just because removing 4 copies of something out of the game with split second is too stronk.
Hope you guys appreciate this deck, because personally I love playing it!Nothing feels as satisfying as killing your opponent with 2 big swings from
Phyrexian Dreadnought
and not even letting them respond to it!
Feedback and +1s are welcome! :)
