Starfishies!
This is a tribal Starfish deck that contains ALL (Which is two) the starfish creatures currently known to Ma(n)gic the Gathering players.
Card choices
Spiny Starfish
is one of the two (though actual Starfish themselves have none) backbones of this deck, and pumps out more Starfish creatures whilst serving as a speedbump to aggro through regeneration. Whenever it blocks, it makes a new starfish!
Sigiled Starfish is the other Starfish creature, and helps smooth out the draws of the deck, whilst also having a healthy bottom for it's two mana cost.
Adaptive Automaton is almost a Starfish. Almost. It's the only lord for the Starfish, and they're colourless which puts less strain on the manabase.
Izzet Staticaster isn't a Starfish. I checked. But it does enable the regeneration on my
Spiny Starfish
, even if my opponent fails to do so. Combined with the next card, it also provides powerful board control.
Nightshade Peddler
is great at stopping fatties as long as I have an additional creature, preferably a Starfish, in play. Also coincidentally it'll provide free Murders each turn with the Staticaster. It also helps me keep the
Spiny Starfish
regenerating even if they get buffed out of the 1 damage range of the Staticaster.
Drift of Phantasms tutors for whichever 3-drop I need. It might be the Staticaster to start clearing trash, it might be the Spiny Starfish to get my Starfish on, or it might be the Automaton to get the Starfish online.
Alpha Status
because there can be only one... Starfish. The queen of Starfishes. The Emperor of Starfishland (the sea). The mogul of Starfish. It'll put the Star in the fish. Or something less suited as a sexual innuendo.
Muraganda Petroglyphs Hey! 0/1 Starfish? You're now a 2/3! The meek shall inherit. And so the Petroglyphs helps them do so.
Lightning Bolt because you know.. Sometimes Starfish can't make it on their own.
Think Twice for the draw. I mean, what else?
