One of my favorite decks of all time was Dralnu du Louvre back when it was in standard. I wanted to build a deck with the draw/go play style. And with many of the same dimensions(similar threat numbers/counter spell numbers). For Those unfamiliar with Dralnu, the idea is a sort of combination of making your opponent think they'll never resolve a spell. And anything that does hit is swiftly negated.

So when I was under the impression that zombies would be the most popular deck in standard unfortunately, when I went to a different gaming shop 9 out of about 13 people were playing control (there was a decent variety).

Game 1 vs White Black Aggro 2-0 The deck seemed like a kind of kitchen table type deck no real since of tempo and no cards of note really. The guy was talking about all the Mirrodin cards he had. Anyway I beat him handily the first game and even muliganed to five the second game and beat him.

Game 2 vs White Human Aggro 1-2 Won Game one pretty convinsingly with board wipes. Game two I got stuck on three mana with two rewinds and hand and no real removal to save myself. Game Three was a good game. He snuck some threats onto the board and all I had was counterspells in hand. I was unable to deal with the threats on the board. Quickly enough. I definitely should have boarded in Dramatic Rescues and Terminus This also gives me a good reason to look into Drogskol Reaver.

Game 3 vs Blue Red Control/Miracle 2-1 Game one I won pretty standard. Game two I didn't have anything to deal with a sideboarded in Izzet Keyrune. I had two Supreme Verdicts but no instant removal. He Dealt a ton of damage with that and eventually won even with Sphinx's Revelation. This was a game I sided in 3 Dispel and realized most miracles arn't instants. I won the third game, it was rough but my card advantage was too much.

Game 4 vs Blue Red Black Control 0-2 This match was Painful, he predicted everyone would run control so he abused Nephalia Drownyard, Slaughter Games, and Counterflux. To calmly deck his opponent while denying any chance of getting a threat. Pithing Needle or Ghost Quarter seem like a really good option here.

Ultimately I need to tailor my deck more toward anti-control. Maybe find some uncounterable stuff or just get more Snapcaster Mage for beats.
