So one of my favorite cards in the entire game is Paradox Engine. For a while now, Ive been trying to make it work in standard, but the combos have just been too inconsistent. Thats all changed now that Gilded Lotus has been introduced into standard. The goal of this deck is to start infinitely chaining Squee, the Immortal in order to trigger Paradox Engine and generate infinite mana. To do this, you need a few pieces.
Youll start with Paradox Engine. No brainer, really. Pretty integral piece of the combo. Once youve gotten that out of the way, you need at least 4 mana worth of rocks. This can be 2 copies of Gilded Lotus, 1 Gilded Lotus and a Mox Amber, etc. Now at this point youve got all sorts of mana but certainly not an arbitrarily large amount of it, so thats where Squee comes in. Once you get 2 copies of Squee anywhere that isnt the library (not under the opponents control or under their Ixalan's Binding, please), you can get going. Play one Squee, generate a bunch of mana, play the other Squee, sacrificing the first to legendary rule and generate yourself some more mana. Continue this process until you can cast an arbitrarily large Walking Ballista or draw your whole deck with Pull from Tomorrow.
Now thats winning the game, but before you can get to that point, you have to not die. So Ive loaded the deck with a bunch of control tools, most of which doubling as deck filtering. It probably wont be enough to deal with any super aggressive decks though, so against them youll have to go heavy into the sideboard, maybe even switching into midrange, rather than full on combo.
