Matchup Results —July 14, 2016

Naya Zoo: 2-1, match was very tough, but once I sided in the Kor... Naya could no longer keep up.

Infect: 2-0, admittedly I had some really lucky draws... but I consistently flashed in a Spirit to block or removed all their infecters until my combo came online and they scooped.

There were a lot of other Tier two results going back and forth but it won fairly consistently. The Flooded Strands evened out the mana base and I haven't had any problems with being able to cast everything.

Have you considered tribal shape shifter cards? They are all creature types, and are therefore also spirits.

I think the most applicable ones are:

Wings of Velis Vel: It's just a small boost with evasion. It's up to you how useful this is.

Crib Swap Your deck is really lacking removal. This could help fix that while meeting the spirit arcane requirement.

I have a few classic additions for any meaningful sideboard to combat threats given your color base:

Rest in Peace

Leyline of Sanctity

Kor Firewalker

Hurkyl's Recall

Disenchant

Thank you for the suggestions, I'll definitely put them in for now but the sideboard will probably evolve a ton as I play the deck more and more. As of now I'm still buying all the cards but I wanted advice before I bought some of the more expensive ones.

Fairly nice deck. Here are some suggestions: Blessed Spirits and Eidolon of Countless Battles, and Greater Auramancy and Mesa Enchantress.

The problem with the last two is they aren't tutorable and thus would occupy too many slots. Enchantments are the icing not the cake itself. At least thats what I'm trying to make

Kira, Great Glass-Spinner might help you out here.

Hmm yeah, what would you take out though? It doesn't help that much against field wipes so I was more leaning towards the new sac Spirit spoiled in EMN but it does seem very useful

I would probably take out one of Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit and just have one of each.

If your concerns about board wipes perhaps the new Eldritch Moon card Selfless Soul, for the English description visit the cards page.

I was considering putting that card in here and changing the entire instant half of the deck away from the arcane subtheme. Mainly just protection and removal at instant speed is what I want. I'm still kind of new to the modern scene so if you guys could recommend some staples as far as instants go it'd go a long way for me.

Serum Visions is always a good one to have in deck for draw power. Also if you going to drop the arcane sub-theme then perhaps replacing Long-Forgotten Gohei with something in line of Path of Bravery or Honor of the Pure.

Aldo as a general pick Path to Exile is always nice to have in deck.

Shape Stealer is very strong with any type of power/toughness boost since its effect changes only its base stats. The effectively lets it win a fight against any unboosted creature.

Also consider transmute for late game tutoring to grab your stronger spirits. You could even drop a single copy of Eidolon of Countless Battles with the assurance that you will only pick it up when it looks ideal.:

Tolaria West

Drift of Phantasms

Muddle the Mixture
