Sideboard

Based on Extreme Budget No-Scoping - M19 Updated!, it's very fun to play. It's just very much over 100 cards, at the moment.

Any help on cards to ditch is greatly appreciated. I'm a Vorthos, and struggle to ditch even junky cards.

  • The deck is centred around Horobi, Death's Wail. It uses only cards that say "Target Creature", to destroy creatures.

  • As Horobi is essential, he needs all the protection he can get. The deck dies without him on board. Please refer to the Protection section. These cards will most likely all have to stay, as they're the only in-colour cards I've been able to find that will work (e.g. Equipment and Auras won't, since they'll kill Horobi as they attach to a "target creature")

  • The best "target creature" cards are in the Powerhouse section. These are cheap/free, very easily repeatable, function well en masse, or may have important secondary functions besides removal. These will remain in the deck, no question.

  • The rest of the general "target creature" cards are grouped under The Deck section. Any suggestions of which to ditch, etc. are greatly appreciated!!

  • Secondary utilities, generally ones that interact with creatures dying or have alternate functions in the deck, are under Utils. Any you could suggest I drop as too useless? Annoyingly, I'm a Vorthos, and get easily attached flavourful cards. (e.g. a bizarre, probably not-worth-it combo involving Kormus Bell, Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth or Blanket of Night to make my oppponents' (and my own) lands removable) (e.g. Guul Draz Overseer, a late game win-con, since most of the creatures are puny by default) (e.g. Phylactery Lich, a great creature card for a mono-black deck with this many artifacts, but otherwise not combo related)

  • NB The Lands section does not contain all the lands in the deck; a couple are in other sections.

  • The deck is still a budget deck. Though a little more lax than the deck its based on, I'm willing to invest a little more for powerhouse cards. That said, there's a few cards in the current list that I'll only ever play as Chinese proxies in this deck, due to disgusting real-life prices (e.g. Imperial Seal, Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth).

  • A few of the cards in the sideboard are useless cards I already own that I want to keep in just for flavour.

  • Thinking of ditching: Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth (replace with Basic Swamp), Sideboard: Blanket of Night, Kormus Bell, Staff of Nin, Black Market, Worn Powerstone, Sideboard Phyrexian Plaguelord or Disciple of Tevesh Szat, Nighthowler, Sideboard: Junk Diver, Sideboard: Crystal Chimes, Sideboard: Suspicious Bookcase, Sideboard: Icy Manipulator (or mainboard this?) ... Not sure what else (Mainboard: 11 remaining to ditch; Sideboard: 4 remaining to ditch)... Maybe some artifacts? Maybe Shadow Alley Denizen? Maybe Leaden Myr or Jet Medallion (one or the other)?

Any help in chopping this deck and sideboard down to size is greatly appreciated! (Please note, there are a few sideboarded cards that'll have to stay, as they're the only parts of the deck I have at the moment, and OCD won't let me ditch them)

Based off a well known budget build that looked interesting. The commander is become removal, the destroyer of decks. Play small, unassuming artifacts and creatures, then drop Horobi, Death's Wail and cleanse the board of creatures. And keep it that way. Then bring them back to fight for you.

Key cards to look out for when playing this deck are Show

If you feel like an alternate commander, the sideboard is infested with rats and Marrow-Gnawer.

My own take on extreme-budget-no-scoping-ixalan-updated, involving 17 or so mainboard changes and the addition of a sideboard.
