Sphinx-Fall

Casual Control Mill

40fy

I came up with this deck after an early attempt at an Izzet based control burn deck. While looking through blue cards, I realized the milling power of Sphinx's Tutelage + Windfall . The resulting deck was far from perfect, and it took me a while to realize that it was not going to work with a 50/50 red blue split. Finally, I arrived at this.

The idea here is that you spend your first few turns trying to put down a Sphinx's Tutelage and as many Goblin Electromancers as possible, while playing all the control in your hand to keep your opponent from killing you. Then, on turn 4 or 5, start spending all of your mana to cast windfalls and brainstorms. The combo goes as follows: if you have exactly one windfall in your hand, play it. If you have more than one, play a brainstorm and put excess windfalls on the top of your deck. If you have none, end your turn and stall your opponent with a new handfull of control spells.
