Congrats on this new deck! Whirler virtuoso could fit your deck. It fuels aethersphere harvester and gives extra artifact creatures!

Unfortunately there's nothing I would want to take out to fit Whirler Virtuoso in.

All my other 3 drops offer more value, for this deck.

There is no Izzet check land. It's ally colors

TepigAggro not all Ixalan cards have been officially spoiled, yet.

Seems odd that they've left with only Spirebluff Canal and Highland Lake.

If that's the case I guess I'm stuck with Highland Lake.

I don't think the Highland Lake is necessary, getting two colors is not difficult to do. Especially since you play Spire of Industry and Aether Hub.

magikarp123 I'm not actually relying on Aether Hub for mana fixing. It's only a backup, if needed.

I mostly use it as an extra way to get for Aethersphere Harvester to use.

The fact that I have Aether Hub, Cradle of the Accursed, and Spire of Industry in the deck means that I need another source of fixing.

Aether Hub and Spire of Industry can't always be relied on to colour fix.

So before trying to critic the deck itself, why Izzet colors? Or, at least, why Izzet colors only?

I should say that I've been playing this deck, in different forms, for four seasons now.

let me run Wandering Fumarole, which was important if all your Creatures die as it can Crew everything.

I'm trialling Cradle of the Accursed in its place, and that seems to be working.

Outside that, the Haste offered by Speedway Fanatic is important.

So is having Counter spells in the late game, to protect Untethered Express, and Skysovereign, Consul Flagship.

I do NOT wish to make a generic Dwarven Vehicle deck.

This deck is to be thought of more as an Artifact Tribal + Vehicles deck.

Okay. So what are your feelings on pump effects and draw spells? I notice that even including your sideboard you don't run anything to speed up your deck beyond giving vehicles haste through the one creature, but I wouldn't say you do anything to significantly prolong the game as most control decks do. You've got the few counterspells sure but I wouldn't think those alone will save you all the time.

You seem to have built this more like a mid-range deck from my perspective, but you've simply added more aggression in creatures over having a myriad of effects. Like instead of draws through, say Reverse Engineer, or pumps through Built to Smash, both are replaced by more creatures and vehicles that are made to attack.

Which because aggro decks are a thing I get that can work, but I feel like you can be easily stopped too. How much power does Chief of the Foundry for instance actually add most of the time that doesn't get blocked? I apologize if that sounds rude, but I do mean to be curious not skeptical.

It's always difficult to know how a deck is functioning irl, so I don't mind the questions.

As long as they don't turn into a long, drawn out discussion where I have to repeatedly explain why I have chosen to build this deck the way I have.

You must understand, I've been playing a version of this for four seasons, and it has been going gangbusters.

This is not a Control deck. The Counter spells merely stop people from getting rid of Skysovereign, Consul Flagship, or another significant piece, in the late game.

It is not an Aggro deck, either.

It is a mid range Artifact Tribal deck.

Chief of the Foundry doesn't provide much pump in MOST decks.

What you have to remember is that it pumps MOST things in this deck.

So it's not ONE thing hitting you for an extra +1/+1. It's FOUR things hitting you for an extra +1/+1

It's Aethersphere Harvester providing an 8 point swing instead of a 6 point swing.

It's Untethered Express hitting you with 6/6 Trample damage the first time it attacks.

PLUS Scrapheap Scrounger is now a 4/3, another Chief of the Foundry is a 3/4, etc.

With that being the case, subbing other spells for Creatures is counterproductive.

If I happen to need more draw I put in Padeem, Consul of Innovation.

If I need removal I can bring in cards from the Sideboard.

I was wondering if Abrade would shut this deck down. It doesn't.

Due to the fact that I have so many Artifacts, if they get rid of one it doesn't matter that much.

Or I simply Counter it, hence why those spells are necessary.

Hope that all makes sense.

You explain these well enough. I just hadn't realized how set in stone the majority of your build was.

I prefer to think of it as tried and tested.

I'm really just trying to get this deck to number 1, as the deck that it was based on mysteriously disappeared from the site.

Although, I am surprised that no one has suggested Metallic Mimic.

That could sit in for Inventor's Apprentice, choosing "Construct".

Clever suggestions like that, which would strengthen the current build, are what I'm after.

You don't play a foil Foundry Inspector.

No Sphinx of the Final Word as a 1 of at least? I think its an awesome late game bomb in blue. Plus its great if your playing against a control deck. Especially in the same colors. It doesnt really fit the theme of your deck though, which I am a huge fan of btw. I love decks that use control colors but are on the very aggressive side. Definitely +1 from me.

What about Bomat Courier? Cheap generic 1 drop with haste. And an artifact so itd fit your theme?

jetsfanforever14 I would rather play Inventor's Apprentice on Turn 1 than Bomat Courier, as it often becomes a 2/3 on Turn 2.

I'll think about Sphinx of the Final Word, but I've never really liked one ofs.

Jkmiller1 why NOT Untethered Express? The Trample and Crew 1 are both amazing, in this deck.

The other night I hit with Untethered Express as an 8/8, and forced my Opponent to block with their entire field, which then got wiped out, or lose the game.

Have you ever played with it? It is SO good.

Nice deck! But it needs Den Protectors and Deathmist Raptors. You can also put in three Siege Rhinos and you have built an acceptable deck. Geez with all those suggestions...Nice deck argy. I will build a version of it and see how it goes :P
