Snack That Smiles Back - Jund Aristocrats

Commander / EDH* Aristocrats BRG (Jund) Casual Sacrifice Tokens

HarleyP

Jund was the savage, brutal shard that only the most hardened souls called home. Life on Jund is much more Primal, where every day is a wrestle against death itself. It is much like the jungles of South America, where the beauty of the lush flora is equally terrifying when you hear its sounds.

Jund Aristocrats is an avenue I've always wanted to explore, but I dont enjoy the target painted on my head the way Prossh, Skyraider of Kher and Korvold, Fae-Cursed King attract. Enter Sek'Kuar, Deathkeeper.

This Orc Shaman is a master Necromancer, skilled in turning worthless bodies into hellish warmongers. With every non-token creature death, we get a 3/1 token with haste. A 3/1 is already a pretty nice stat line, but they're easily blocked! What's the point? Well, what if our opponent didn't have any creatures to block with?

For this we have a removal suite of Edict effects on creatures. A big hello to my friend, and surely yours, Fleshbag Marauder Merciless Executioner, Plaguecrafter and more. These fellow 3/1 non token bodies come in, force our opponents to sac, and we get a great 3 for 1 removal spell.

As all aristocrat strategies, we have the classics. Our drain on death effects Bastion of Remembrance, Blood Artist etc. You know em. You've seen em. We have the value of drawing a card on death Midnight Reaper, or making more mana Pitiless Plunderer and Pawn of Ulamog. The meat and potatoes to all aristocrat decks, because otherwise the decks useless.

At a certain point, we won't draw into a removal spell, but need to keep the value goin, in which there's some great recurrable creatures to ensure we always do SOMETHING on our turn. Reassembling Skeleton and Nether Traitor are fanTASTIC cards that will always keep this train movin. In absolute Dire emergency, our lands can even help spit out creatures for us to utilize, thanks Kher Keep.

This is my first true aristocrats deck, and the list will keep changing. Sek'Kuar is an amazing commander that lives in the shadow of its Dragon lords. But it's better to be understated than threatening before you finish drawing your opening 7.
