First off, this deck is three things: a combo deck, an artifact deck, and a budget deck. All three of these aspects add pretty equally to why I like it, so when making suggestions these are factors to consider.
Second, I'm running Slobad rather than any other mono-red artifact commander because he is good at being cheap (CMC and $ wise), he isn't a huge threat when he hits the board (and in turn doesn't bait much removal), and he provides some very important utility that makes my low drop artifacts useful into the late game.
EDIT: After playtesting this deck for a while, I've officially mainboarded Daretti, Scrap Savant, and when I can get around to finally trading for him I might try to use him as a commander instead of Slobad. Who knows.
