mtg, mtg cards, magic the gathering, gaming, geeks
After a lot of time,I finally took out some (decisely) useless cards to put in some others. I'd really appreciate if someone comments them and says if they're ok in there
OUT CARDS :
@Denjin : LoL,you got the point I think, just as thedemonsday did xD for the cost... fortunately,I half-completed the deck. The only cards I'll never buy are the double lands (Tundra ,Savannah ,Tropical Island etc. T_T)
@jan2692wal : I think you're totally right. I never considered about adding Primal Surge to this deck, but now that you made me watch closer,I understood I got ONLY permanents. So I can only thank you for the advice and replace Maelstrom Nexus with Primal Surge . You got eye! :)
True indeed xD and I kill infinite opponents by using Sliver Queen 's combos (like her combined with Gemhide Sliver ,Training Grounds ,Basal Sliver ,Firewake Sliver ,Sliver Legion ,Heart Sliver ,Brood Sliver and so on. Combos are unlimited xD).
Well,I must admit,it happened a lot of times, before I removed Fungus Sliver and Vampiric Sliver to add Badlands and Bayou . With 36 lands in the deck now,it never happened anymore (fortunately xD) (thought I got some mana fixers or accelerators like Chromatic Lantern ,Prismatic Omen and Gemhide Sliver ).
Plus, just looking at my mana curve, every single Sliver (except for Fury Sliver ,that is a finisher,so I think that's a little normal for him to cost 5R) costs 5 or less mana (everyone is around 2-3 cmc, really fast ones then),and lands aren't always needed a lot : calling forth Sliver Overlord is enough to start tutoring like a boss (Training Grounds FTW) and searching which slivers you'd like to have onto the battlefield to solve the situation.
I like this deck because it never lacks of resources (thanks to card:Volrath's Stronghold you can make your dead ones onto the battlefield again, and again, and again, and thanks to Yavimaya Hollow you assure your slivers longer life in the middle games, while Gavony Township makes your little ones becoming stronger) and has a lot of way to solve different situations (the utility of troll-creatures like Dormant Sliver ,Psionic Sliver ,Acidic Sliver ,Gemhide Sliver ,Frenetic Sliver ,Telekinetic Sliver and tons of others are just panacea for me).
There's only one ENORMOUS FLAW in this deck, and it's the price because of double lands (Badlands ,Tundra ,Savannah etc.). I probably will never have them T_T that's why I'm forced on using shock lands instead of them, while I'm playing with my playmates (Blood Crypt ,Hallowed Fountain ,Temple Garden etc.). Still,it works pretty well in any case, thanks to Amulet of Vigor (one of the best cards in there, since it accelerates colored mana production with vivid lands like Vivid Creek ,Vivid Marsh etc. and other ones that enters the battlefield tapped like Grand Coliseum ,Seaside Citadel etc.).
Still, even thought Aluren is a very good card in there,I tested Intruder Alarm 's power in my last matches... whenever I saw it and Gemhide Sliver (and Heart Sliver /Firewake Sliver in early games),I usually won. Always xD Today I infinite mana comboed on turn 3. Here's how :
Nope, there's no way to escape from a Primal Surge into your face, using this deck, and here I explain why :
These are the possible combination of what this deck can do when every single permanent is on the battlefield :
These are just some of the combo I got in mind. That's why when I cast Primal Surge, whatever turn it is,my friends give up.
@Lazarus369 : LoL that's true sometimes xD not for me fortunately,my playmates have enough strong decks to challenge this as well u.u
@MTdude : I thought about adding Lurking Predators recently, still I don't know yet if is good to play it... and about Coat of Arms unfortunately I didn't think on adding it because,a lot of times, grants a great power to opponents as well xD
Also what are your thoughts on Crystal Quarry ? Say you have five lands but not in the color you need...there's your fix for the Legends. And Homeward Path to protect the Overlord if it gets taken from Mind Control.
@xephslayer : Shared Animosity is a cool card for tribal decks,I must say, still I don't think I would put it in there right for now because this deck is a little more a nuisance one than an aggressive one,and my playmates have competitive decks as well,I must keep them off if I don't want to lose.
@Trmiller1326 : Yeah,I put Amoeboid Changeling in there as a must card,in first place, but then I removed it because of Crystalline Sliver . But,recently,I thought on adding it again,so I probably will consider this card (but not Unnatural Selection ,unfortunately... I don't like it because it can't be tutored up with Sliver Overlord unlike Amoeboid Changeling ). Still,if I decided to put Amoeboid Changeling in there again,I think that Homeward Path won't be that much useful... About Aluren ... well,I don't know... but I'm going to put it into my maybeboard right now. If I found an useless card in there (there are still some) I'm going to test its power right away. Talking about Crystal Quarry ,I'm sorry to tell you that I think it's really a bad,bad card... or,at least, this is my point of view. And I say that because you also need to tap it to activate its effect, meaning you have to spend 6 mana to get 5.
Also, have you considered fetch lands? Either the Zendikar/Onslaught ones (budget?) or the Mirage ones to fetch your proxied duals (or the shocks). I'ma actually running a full set of duals, shocks and fetches, and with just those, I have never had an issue with needing mana fixing.
Also on a side note with Frenetic Sliver and tokens...as soon as the tokens leave the play zone they seise to exist, so using its ability on your tokens just wastes time. Additionally, in M:tG, there is no such thing as infinite (unless you like to loose)... you must choose a number. The rules specifically state that if an infinite loop occurs, the player that played the last ability/spell to cause the loop looses the game... so for this combo I recommend picking a large number (1 googolplex does nicely (thats 1x1010100))
