Sliver Overlord has, and always will be, one of my favorite decks to build and pilot. I built this deck in order to play one of my favorite tribes: slivers. If you haven't figured it out yet, slivers function as a hivemind and therefor are very powerful. Here is a breakdown of my gameplan.

The first part of the game is fixing your colors. For me, having access to Shock Lands is something I never thought I'd get the pleasure to enjoy, but the recent Ravnica set made it possible for me. I chose to use cards like Farseek to search out basic land type cards and fix mana. As I am slowly building this up, I elected to use the "Slow Fetch" cycle of fetch lands. They work pretty effectively in my meta, but your mileage may vary. One of the best plays ever is a hand with Burgeoning and five lands. I have managed a turn 2 Overlord with said combo, it works pretty good and feel even better.

Now that you have your lands, its sliver time. Overlord is powerful because of his search ability, so we should never worry about running low on spell, just mana. In order to make the most of mana, I included Wilderness Reclamation which combos nicely to endstep search and mainstep cast slivers. Cards such as Biomancer's Familiar and Illusionist's Bracers allow you to double up on search triggers. Importantly here is also the inclusion of Zendikar Resurgent to make even more out of your turns.

Now what are you searching for? Well my first plays (if I'm not in immediate danger) are to get Crystalline Sliver and Quick Sliver. This combination makes it so difficult to interact with slivers, its funny. If worst comes to worst, you search and flash hivelord to make a one-sided board wipe. From here, essentially pick whats necessary to win.

Winning is essential in a deck, at least an aggro one. There are several combat oriented win cons that I'd like to include. First, overrun effects are bomb, so Overwhelming Stampede and Triumph of the Hordes will win with little resistance, especially if you have a Shifting Sliver. Another option is an infinite token combo that uses Breath of Fury and Brood Sliver. So you have Breath of Fury target a sac-able sliver and attack (again with some evasion), then sac that sliver to the Breath ability and target the new token with breath. An issue I had once was that I had Crystalline Sliver down and couldn't target, so I had to search up a Darkheart Sliver to sac Crystalline Sliver. That is also why Diffusion Sliver is in the deck.

Resilience. Alright, you are going to get a lot of unfriendly attention as your board grows, so I packed a few funny cards. First I'd like to point out Genesis Wave. As a late-game top-deck, I don't think there is any better option. Pour all your mana into it and watch the magic happen. This has single-handily won me games, so don't look past it. Now people are going to want your stuff gone, so as board-wipe counter play, Living Death makes an appearance. Yes, it helps your opponents, but you're playing slivers, so what.

Removal. It's exile removal, have fun. Also Crib Swap is searchable, don't ever forget that. Instant speed exile target creature while you have no cards in hand is well worth costing 3 to cast, or 6 to search and cast.

I hope you enjoy my deck as much as I have, Thanks and Happy Hunting!
