Pssst. Hey kid. You like token based decks with a lotta life gain on a super light budget, right? Well, do I have the deck for you...

Slimefoot, the Stowaway !

Imma break this down for you quickly.

The Lowdown

Slimefoot, all things considered, is pure value on a body. His first ability nets you some free life, while slowly draining your opponents to zero. Keeps yourself padded o you don't die so quickly. His second ability allows you to create little saproling buddies to raise your defense and offense, as well as to provide sacrifice fodder.

What? You didn't expect to keep all of your saprolings, did you? This deck employs an 'aristocrats' strategy, which focuses on sacrificing your own things for added benefit. You'll make plenty of tokens anyway, so losing a few shouldn't really hurt.

Anyway, your main strategy here is going to be pump out plenty of saprolings with thallids, spells, and Slimefoot himself, then use those saprolings to your advantage. Sacrifice them to Ashnod's Altar for free mana, to Thallid Soothsayer or Skullclamp for some free cards, or to Hell's Caretaker to get your lost friends back. In addition, Song of Freyalise allows you to use them for more free mana, and Nullmage Shepherd for easy artifact/enchantment removal, without even needing to sacrifice them! Value!

But all of those are just for show if you can't win with them. Luckily, this deck has a few game winning tricks up its spore-riddled sleeves.

  • Life Gain: Not really a win condition, but gaining tons of life will allow you to pad yourself to set up a game winning move. Cards like Essence Warden will keep you at a hearty life total, while cards like Well of Lost Dreams and Sanguine Bond will help you on your way to victory.

  • Going Wide: Obviously, you have a lot of tokens. Why not use them to attack? With things like Overrun , Verdeloth the Ancient , Song of Freyalise , Tendershoot Dryad and other boosting effects, you can swing in for lethal super quickly.

  • Sanguine Bond : One of the cheapest win conditions in black, and surprisingly effective in this deck. This enchantment doubles the life loss all of the death triggers are dishing out. Whittle down you opponents faster with triggers, or just drop a Luminescent Rain for an almost instant kill.

That's all I really got, so go on, now. Show 'em what for.
