I HATE infinite turn decks —Oct. 5, 2018

This is the first time I've used a completed version of my deck. The only substitutions I made were replacing two of the Maximize Velocity with two Gird for Battle and the two Ajani, Adversary of Tyrants with two Integrity / Intervention because I did not have the two I needed.

Pre-tournament I played against a Jeskai control deck, winning five of the six games before forfeiting the last game due to their 18+ counterspells, and [card: Teferi, Hero of Dominaria]. This would set the tone for the rest of the night.

Round 1 was against a Dimir deck focused around Etrata, the Silencer. Thankfully I was able to outwit my opponent and take both games for myself.

Round 2 was against the same person playing Jeskai control. Unfortunately, despite my earlier attempts, I lost to the deck both times thanks to Settle the Wreckage, which not only kept me from swinging out several times, it slowed my ability to deal damage to the point that Teferi was able to get his emblem in both games.

Round 3 was bant control with a focus on stopping combat damage, and a nasty twist with a playset of Nexus of Fate. He was able to get infinite turns to the point I had to bow out because I couldn't stand just not being able to do anything.

Round 4 was against a fairly standard Selesnya deck but I was so tilted by my first two rounds that I wasn't able to think straight, let alone play to the best of my abilities.

Needless to say, I'm going to adjust the deck to add more damage instants, and look into The Immortal Sun as a way to counter Teferi and other planeswalker nonsense.

Personally, I disagree with the Chromatic Lantern; you're only playing two colours so they'd probably be better off as additional lands, maybe even Boros Guildgate if fixing concerns you. 20 lands is also a bit short in my opinion. I also think that the pair of Light of the Legion would be better off replaced with an additional Aurelia, Exemplar of Justice and Tajic, Legion's Edge so that you hit them more consistently; 6 mana is also steep for an aggro deck, and while it does have huge payoffs, for their mana costs, Tajic and Aurelia trump the Light in my opinion. Finally, I feel that Sunhome Stalwart has a place here potentially instead of Truefire Captain main board; it will help with mana consistency, Stalwart is an early Mentor source which has protection through first strike making it undesirable to block or attack into, and Truefire is below-rate and quite narrow in what it does; it needs to be damaged to be used to its full effect. However, this is your deck so whatever you feel is best should be what you play! Overall I really like this list though

I've been working on thesting .y deck on MTG arena. I've had quite a bit of success with it as it is currently, though I've only played for a few days, so that's hardly conclusive.
