First off I would like to thank Unworthybear for the idea to build this deck. If you want to check his list out the link is right here.

So this deck has two main wincons to talk about. The first is Jace, Cunning Castaway + Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God + Oath of Teferi . The second is winning off of Bolas's Citadel and...card advantage into the combo pieces.

Intro to Deck

So the concept of this deck is simple: you play legends to up Sisay's power, and then you tutor up either Bolas's Citadel or Jace, Cunning Castaway / Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God / Oath of Teferi depending on your situation. Bolas's Citadel will usually be the correct option because, of the three pieces of the combo listed above, none of them really help you immediately. Then you cycle through your deck until you either find all your combo pieces or amass enough mana to tutor for all of them with Sisay.

The combo works as follows:

Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God uses his +1.

Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God uses “his” -5 ( Sexy Jace's ability).

Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God places 2 copies of himself into play.

Rinse, wash, repeat.

Once infinite Bolases have been achieved use his +1 an infinite number of times and draw your deck/exile your opponent’s hands and boards. Then win Laboratory Maniac Style.

There are a few more combos but they are not our main combos.

1. Aetherflux Reservoir + Bolas's Citadel : This means that all of the spells you cast off of Citadel will be free, and eventually they will start actually gaining you life. When you have enough life you can (maybe) kill somebody with Reservoir.

2. Extra turn spell+ Thousand-Year Storm : When you've cast 5-7 spells off of Bolas's Citadel and you achieve this you just win. 5-6 Extra turns will make it impossible to whiff on your combo and so you will be able to win even if it isn't that turn.

3. Thousand-Year Storm + Smothering Tithe +Wheel: Get lots and lots of mana. Even if you only get one Wheel this should be enough mana to win you the game since 21 mana is 4 Sisay activations which is all we need.

Individual Card Breakdown

Creatures Show

Arbor Elf , Birds of Paradise , Deathrite Shaman , Fyndhorn Elves , Llanowar Elves , Noble Hierarch , Bloom Tender : these are just mana rocks to help us cast our spells and tutor with Sisay.

Gaddock Teeg : He's a 2c legend that helps keep opponents from playing their big spells. Useful in the early game, especially since it means Sisay comes down as a 4/4 on turn 2/3.

Snapcaster Mage : Edh staple, auto include.

Fblthp, the Lost : I needed a 2cmc legend for Sisay's ability and realized that I'd completely overlooked Fblthp. In this deck he's completely insane, drawing 2 the majority of the time since we're either tutoring him or casting him off of Bolas's Citadel . Cool card I can't believe I overlooked.

Anafenza, the Foremost : It's graveyard hate and possible Sisay buffing on a 3c bod. Very good.

Azusa, Lost but Seeking : She's only one color but her ability is great ramp and helps us get past dead cards from Bolas's Citadel .

Kambal, Consul of Allocation : His ability is great in Edh especially considering that most opponents will be casting mana rocks.

Selvala, Heart of the Wilds : She's insane ramp with Sisay since she'll be at least a 3/3 but usually larger. Her ability to mix colors is insanely helpful with Sisay.

Kethis, the Hidden Hand : Recursion with the small cost of exiling two legends. That's solid. Plus if you somehow get a sac outlet for artifacts you can combo with Mox Opal or Mox Amber .

Planeswalkers Show

Wrenn and Six : This is a solid planeswalker that recurs our lands and pings mana dorks. If you somehow manage to get the ultimate then you're set for the rest of the game. Also a 2c 2cmc planeswalker for Sisay's ability.

Dack Fayden : His +1 is a Faithless Looting and his -2 steals a mana rock (insane ramp). Finally his -6 is ok in our deck but his +1/-2 are the reasons we run him. Also he's 2c.

Jace, Cunning Castaway : This is one of our combo pieces, otherwise it doesn't do much for the deck.

Jace, Wielder of Mysteries : He's a Laboratory Maniac that draws a card a turn. Also Sisay can tutor for him so he's a bit better.

Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God : So this is a really insane planeswalker, especially considering Atraxa superfriends is one of the most played decks in the current meta. The main reason we run him, however, is not that he's a good planeswalker, but instead because he combos with Jace, Cunning Castaway and Oath of Teferi , which is, of course, our main wincon.

Spells Show

Enlightened Tutor , Vampiric Tutor , Worldly Tutor , Imperial Seal , Demonic Tutor : These are the tutors of the deck. Sisay's ability really makes it less necessary to have lots of these so I only run 5. Putting cards on top is actually better most of the time since I can cast the tutored card via Bolas's Citadel which is why I only run one "put this card into hand" tutor.

Vandalblast : This is our artifact sweeper for the deck. There are a plethora of decks that run on powerful artifacts to do their dirty work, heck we're one of them! A Vandalblast the turn after they've set up their combo is brutal hate but we like that.

Regrowth : A really solid recursion spell that can get anything. Does really great work.

Abrupt Decay This is a powerful removal spell that hits mana rocks and most utility creatures. Being uncounterable makes it that much better.

Assassin's Trophy : Another powerful removal spell that can also hit lands with the small, sometimes nonexistent drawback of letting your opponent get a basic.

Counterspell : A 2cmc counterspell is pretty great disruption.

Cyclonic Rift : Insane card, Edh staple.

Delay : In my opinion this is a much better spell than Counterspell in that it sends the spell to exile instead of the graveyard. It’s much easier to keep them from casting and letting your opponents have a second chance in three turns isn’t all that bad. Three turns is a long time in an Edh game by that time you may have already won.

Mana Drain : This is an Edh staple that can be great ramp. Edh is nicknamed “Battlecruiser Magic” by some and it is one of the few magic formats where you may see people hard casting Eldrazi titans. Need I explain any more?

Weather the Storm : This may seem like an odd inclusion, but when our main path to victory involves killing ourselves using Bolas's Citadel , usually after casting 8-12 spells, this does serious work.

Anguished Unmaking : Exiling anything for the small cost of 3 life is pretty great. Some of the most common decks in Edh ( Muldrotha, the Gravetide , Meren of Clan Nel Toth , etc…) can easily recur the cards in their graveyards so exiling them is amazing.

Krosan Grip : Your opponent is about to combo off. Their insert combo piece artifact or enchantment here has done serious work and they literally win on this activation of it. Nobody can do anything since they may activate it in response to anything. Except that split second is a thing. Krosan Grip is a great card that is untouchable according to the rules of Magic. Very good.

Timetwister / Echo of Eons : Echo is basically a 6cmc Timetwister with 3cmc flashback (it’s better in my opinion). The card(s) are both insane though and they can be very helpful for shuffling in your graveyard. Also your opponent’s graveyards. This is “soft” graveyard hate.

Toxic Deluge : A 3cmc sweeper is great. Edh staple.

Wheel of Fortune : Hand disruption and great draw. Another Edh staple.

Damnation : A 4cmc sweeper. Really good. Is this an Edh staple?

Supreme Verdict : A better, albeit harder to cast Damnation . The “can’t be countered” is a huge bonus.

Tendrils of Agony : This will rarely win you the game but it gains you quite a bit of life which is very nice.

Capture of Jingzhou / Time Warp : One of our alternative ways to win involves taking many, many extra turns with extra turns spells and Thousand-Year Storm .

Fumigate : A sweeper that gains us life. Very nice.

Blasphemous Act : Kills most things in Edh. Good power for (possible) cheap cost.

Artifacts Show

Chrome Mox , Mana Crypt , Mox Amber , Mox Diamond , Mox Opal , Mana Vault , Sol Ring , Arcane Signet , Grim Monolith , Chromatic Lantern : These are the mana rocks of our deck. Chromatic lantern is a must run in all 5c decks.

Sensei's Divining Top : So you’ve got Bolas's Citadel out and you hit a land. “Well that’s land for turn, lets hope I don’t hit anymore” you think. Next card: land. This is a problem I have run into but Sensei's Divining Top almost completely removes it. The odds of hitting 3 lands is very low considering that less than 1/3 of this deck is lands. Very nice card.

Umezawa's Jitte : This is mainly run as a way to pump Sisay’s power if we don’t have the mana for multiple activations to boost her power. Also tutorable.

Aetherflux Reservoir : This is a combo with Bolas's Citadel , if only it was tutorable. Also an alternate wincon.

Alhammarret's Archive : Great way to do two things that we like in this deck: gain life and draw cards. Very nice card.

Bolas's Citadel : This is the main wincon of our deck. See intro.

Enchantments Show

Legion's Landing  : This is really just a much needed one cmc legend to fill the vacuum.

Mystic Remora : Very good card draw while setting up our mana/combo pieces. Edh staple.

Sylvan Library : Another great bit of card draw.

Rhystic Study : See Mystic Remora .

Smothering Tithe : There are some Edh decks that run many wheels. Heck we run 3. A good way to get mana for Sisay activations.

Oath of Teferi : A combo piece.

Thousand-Year Storm : Great with Smothering Tithe +Wheels. Combos with our walks and gains lots of life with Weather the Storm .
