The good:

• Hardened Scales and Lorescale Coatl without counters in play, cast Ideas Unbound for quick +8/+8 creature.
• Hardened Scales and Lorescale Coatl with counters in play, cast Take to double the counters.
• Slip Through Space to draw a card (+1/+1, or more with Hardened Scales) and make the Lorescale Coatl unblockable.
• Merfolk Looter to pump up Lorescale Coatl.
• Cold-Eyed Selkie with Give and Aqueous Form for great draw to pump up the Coatl.
• Ohran Viper for protection, but can also pump up the Coatl.
• When you start having too many cards in the graveyard, play Elixir of Immortality.
• Chasm Skulker instead of Lorescale Coatl, if no green mana is available at the start of the game.
• Horizon Chimera for life gain.

The bad (advice welcome):

• Fliers are a problem
• Wipe and control decks if not taken care of quickly

The ugly:

• Getting your 18/18 unblockable Coatl Murder ed.
