Commander / EDH Artifact Control WUBR

Dapwrd4getr

I created this deck to "break the stereotype" of my play style. In other words, I wanted to create something that I was definitely not use to with the idea of increasing my skills and abilities in MTG. Here is what I mean:

  1. My favorite Magic Color is green because of its ability to ramp and bring things out more quickly. This deck has no green.

  2. My least favorite Magic Color is black because of its destruction at taxing costs, and there definitely is black in this deck.

  3. I like creature-based decks. The majority of my EDH decks thus far have been superbly creature-based, but this one is Artifact-based.

I also found myself liking Partner Commanders a lot because of the various options they can bring depending on the board state of the game and also the fact you're essentially starting with a 98 card deck. The main objective of the deck, however, is to not rely on my Commanders early in the game like all my other decks have in past. Rather, the ideal situation is to have my cards go into the grave, and then take advantage of their value late game by summoning my Commanders to put them to good use (Silas Renn being the recursion factor and Akiri being the late game beatstick).

This deck will probably take a while to put together because it will definitely be the most financially bearing as blue and black also happen to be the most expensive colors in MTG. I'll probably sit on this idea for a long time before I even make the deck.

5/28/19: After playing with this deck for about a month and a half, I found it to be one of the default decks I come to play when joining a table group or introducing Commander to others. The deck literally does what I want every EDH game to have; table-interaction when handling cards like Oblivion Stone or Nevinyrral's Disk, and lots of recursion value without the need to fully rely on Silas Renn, Seeker Adept. The largest thing this deck lacks is a solid win condition other than fully equipping Akiri, Line-Slinger with a large amount of Equipment Artifacts and for Mechanized Production to reach eight artifacts as well. Maybe I'll have to explore other opportunities as I playtest against other players.

11/16/19: I'll be putting my resources to make this deck have more strong and obvious win conditions. I also decided to throw in the Nim Deathmantle for the sake of having one of the infinite combos Artifact decks are known for. I just need to search for more viable sacrifice outlets.
