What started as a Savra, Queen of the Golgari-Deck has soon after the spoiler of Sidisi evolved into this gem. It basically is the first deck I built for CDR and has since its initial build been my most favorite deck.

Reasons for its attractiveness Show

The reasons, why this deck is still so much fun for me are:

• the colours: the combination of and offers lots of options and is in my opinion the strongest colour-combination in Magic, especially in CDR. This offers me Xillion options for cards to play and the ability to tweak and adapt it to any meta.

• diversity: due to the cards included, every game plays out differently. Sometimes I try to win by pure creature token hordes (Craterhoof Behemoth), othertimes I might try to mill everyone (Phenax, God of Deception and Mesmeric Orb), other times I try to deal damage through my tapped permanents (Throne of the God-Pharaoh), take a more controlish route (Opposition) or take my opponents creatures (The Scarab God). Sometimes I do all of it... However it is always fun to see what this deck has in the cache for me when I sit down with it.

• Playing with the graveyard: I just love to use and reuse my cards again and again. And I love to play with a great part of my deck even though the game might last only 5-7 turns over all... This deck allows all of it.

• Lots of interactions: With this deck there is rarely a turn where I sit idly. Moreoften than not I am able to do multiple things a turn, and therefore play Magic as intended!

• Versatility: Basically I have answers to almost anything in the deck. Well, I might not always draw them, but they are there nevertheless so I rarely feel "helpless".

As mentioned above, the deck has multiple Win Conditions:

• Creature Damage through Zombie Tokens with Sidisi, Brood Tyrant herself or Undead Alchemist in combination with self/opponent-milling and cards like Doubling Season and Craterhoof Behemoth or Wonder/Filth.

• Mill your Opponents with Phenax, God of Deception, Mesmeric Orb, Altar of the Brood or Altar of Dementia - possibly on every turn with a Seedborn Muse or Quest for Renewal in play...

• Indirect Damage through Triggered Abilities (Throne of the God-Pharaoh, The Scarab God, Diregraf Captain, Vengeful Dead, repeated Gray Merchant of Asphodel)

Protection from Graveyard Hate

• Entomb + Kozilek, Butcher of Truth

• Perpetual Timepiece

• Kill the player with graveyard hate as fast as possible...
