Maybeboard

Sorcery (1)

Enchantment (1)

Originally a Scarab God Zombie Tribal deck, I decided to add a color and change the commander to improve flexibility and make games more interesting than just playing zombies and pulling off the occasional Gravecrawler + Rooftop Storm infinite combo. A recent Jumbo Commander (great channel if you were not aware) deck tech video provided me with some really great ideas about how to spice up what I currently have. This deck, which is mostly a work-in-progress, should be a fun way to combine some of my favorite things about commander: creatures, reanimation, and mill (even if I'm mostly milling myself). Thus, this is a Sidisi, Brood Tyrant deck prioritizing self-mill, loads of creatures, and reanimator effects to keep healthy board states.

As this is based off of my current Scarab God deck, it was easier to make this deck with an zombie-subtheme, so I have kept some zombie lords and others with important effects. Arcane Adaptation is in the maybeboard, as I am not sure just how far to take the zombie theme. Otherwise, most of the zombie theme helps me mill myself. Stitcher Geralf gives me tokens to use as I need them and puts creatures in my graveyard, and the flavor of the card is one of my favorite parts of any game. Cards like Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord and Consuming Aberration benefit from large graveyards, while The Scarab God (demoted from Commander to part of the 99) can pick and choose what I like the best and reanimate it. With Ixilan, the Explore mechanic also boosts the deck's effectiveness leading to the inclusion of Jadelight Ranger for the one-time effect, and the Path of Discovery + Sidisi, Brood Tyrant combo chain.

Since this deck is very creature-driven, I have also supplemented most of the tech that is reserved for instants/ sorceries/ artifacts for creatures with the same abilities. For example, World Shaper stands in for Splendid Reclamation, Ramunap Excavator as a Crucible of Worlds effect, or Draining Whelk / Mystic Snake for any given counterspell. On that same note, mana-producing creatures are very important to take the place of artifacts, so Krosan Restorer, Millikin, and the like help produce mana while contributing to the deck's goal. Of course, some extra stuff is left over to provide some utility like board clears, tutors, and mill-oriented artifacts. Namely, Living Death can be a late-game win condition if my graveyard isn't exiled by then.

Currently, the maybeboard has some ideas that I appreciate to hear your feedback/suggestions on. For example, could Barishi be a (less effective) more specific Elixir of Immortality? Maybe... but probably not. Nonetheless, discussion is welcome!

P.S. I hope to keep Werebear in the final version if possible. Mana producing? Sure, it's okay. Threshold effect? Synergistic, though not mind blowing. Lycanthrope-Bear? Now the value is obvious.
