Artifact (1)

an adaptation to my previous Gisa and Geralf commander deck. I decided to expand my available card pool from Dimir colors (Blue and Black) to Sultai (Blue, Black, and Green). This has given me access to Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord , worldly toutor, Traverse the Ulvenwald , Life from the Loam , Reclamation Sage , and other cards that make the deck much better in my opinion.

The downside to Dimir, is that is cuts me off from some very important resources. This deck is heavy in mana costs, and I need the ramp green offers. My play group runs a lot of enchantments/artifacts so i needed a Reclamation Sage type mechanic. Birthing Pod helps me tutor for the essential combo creatures. Parallel Lives doubles the tokens i'll be getting which is a major theme of the deck. Lastly, and this one is probably the most important, I kept milling my lands. In Dimir colors, my options for bringing lands back from the graveyard are essentially limited to Crucible of Worlds , which I don't want to invest in for that deck. All in all, the Dimir colors cut me out of so many good cards that want to help me, and I finally decided that this was the right course of action.

The deck itself boils down to two themes: Zombie token generation, and Zombie overrun. This is a zombie tribal deck that has the end goal of building up a brood of zombies and running down your enemies.

In summary, Sultai zombies > Dimir zombies.
