how about Survey the Wreckage? a land killer and gives a chump blocker. all for 5 mana. yes it is slightly steep in mana but it's a good card. i also suggest Zo-Zu the Punisher so if the opponent plays new lands they will be punished for it. and he only takes 3 mana.

I like the idea of Zo-Zu the Punisher but I can't say I'd personally go for Survey the Wreckage

I found Polluted Bonds when I looked up Zo-Zu the Punisher.

A couple good cards for this deck are bloodmoon, avalanch rider, fulminator mage, and wasteland. In legacy cards that are 4 or more mana need to swing the game; 6/6's and 4/5's aren't as good as a fast bloodmoon. Ramp like lotus petal, chrome mox, and simian spirit guide (which can also be a win condition in a pinch) are necessary to get in front of your opponent quickly, and Planeswalkers are often used in these decks as a hard to answer way to close out the game.

This is a competitive build of a similar style deck -

I may be confused. Simian Spirit Guide can be a win condition? Or the ramp cards? Either way I don't know how.

Yes, so turn one you want to go ancient tomb (or crystal vein for budget purposes) into exiling guide cast bloodmoon (in this case it was ramp), or on turn 7 when your opponent is locked you can top deck and cast it to start attacking with a 2/2 (now it's a win condition).

So Blood Moon is practically useless if the opponent doesn't use a lot of non-basic or use plenty of red spells right?

December 5, 2017 2:02 p.m.

myLover_ says... #8

Yes, but there are really only 2 kinds of deck: decks that use mostly non basic lands and decks that win with bloodmoon. If you look through these decks you'll see most competitive decks only have 0-3 basic lands,

Non basic lands are more efficient, so it's worth losing 3% of your games to bloodmoon to win 20% more.

I didn't know that, thanks. Honestly since i probably won't ever compete I should probably change the format tag back to casual.

I feel that trying to incorporate the cards you mentioned will be changing the deck too drastically. Instead I might build a separate deck.

I don't agree with myLover_ this is a CASUAL deck and blood moon won't see much action because most casual decks play basics.
