Shirei is a very interesting card, one that demands to have (and has had) a EDH deck built around him and his bizarre ability. Creatures in this deck tend to be below 1 power and have abilities that trigger either when sacrificed or when they enter the battlefield. No worries about letting them be killed: Shirei can take care of it and have them up and kicking in no time at all.

This was one of my more successful EDH decks once it got going. Then Shadowborn Apostle appeared and suddenly the meta for this kind of deck changed. Since Apostles are nearly $2 each and a super viable deck would have over a dozen of them, I'm gonna stick to the old strategy and keep it to fun tricks with 1-power creatures.

Updates Add

...I feel an autumn chill in the air. Time to tweak the deck with a few new cards!

OUT: Bitterheart Witch - Curse of Oblivion - Curse of Thirst - Gruesome Discovery - Mystifying Maze - Triskelion

IN: Abhorrent Overlord - Beacon of Unrest - Coffin Queen - Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx - Lashwrithe - Shadow Alley Denizen

Will be playing a few games here soon to determine if the new cards change the deck much. Time will tell.
