Sharuum goes the Dynamite

Commander / EDH

Wow. I'm impressed. You actually clicked on that horrible pun to see what this deck is all about. Congratulations. I should probably actually tell you then, huh?

So the real story here is that I came across some original duels and thought I should put them to good use, and they happened to be in Esper colors. I love artifacts, so I did an advanced search for Esper legends and found one that has to do with artifacts, and here we are.

However, this deck definitely doesn't need the duels to work. At first, I just wanted this deck to essentially be tron, without the Urza lands because they don't really work in commander, just a bunch of mega ramp through Sol Ring, Mana Vault, Gilded Lotus, and more mana rocks like that, with a reanimator sub-theme with Sharuum the Hegemon's ability. However, I soon learned that Sharuum doesn't like not being a combo deck, so I gradually added more combos until it became a pretty dedicated combo deck.

Instant Win

Sharuum the Hegemon entering the battlefield with Altar of the Brood out and either Sculpting Steel or Phyrexian Metamorph in the yard. Also works with either of the clones entering as a copy of Sharuum regularly with the Altar on the table. Basically, thanks to the way the legend rule works, and to our lovely friend state-based actions, when the clone enters as a copy of Sharuum, both have the same name and are legendary and thus, before the enters the battlefield ability is even put on the stack, I have to sacrifice one of them. Then the clone's etb ability is put onto the stack and I choose a target, which can be the creature I just sacrificed, and when the ability resolves the sacrificed artifact is put back onto the battlefield and it happens again infinitely, giving us infinite triggers for the Altar and all of my opponents mill out their deck. Fun.

The rest of these don't have tricky rules interactions like the last one, so I'll let you figure them out.

Time Sieve and Thopter Assembly. I get infinite turns. The Assembly does have to survive a full cycle around the table, but Shimmer Myr and Darksteel Forge and the like help with that.

Infinite Mana

Voltaic Construct and Karn, Silver Golem plus any artifact that produces 3 or more mana, such as Gilded Lotus, Mana Vault, Basalt Monolith, or Dreamstone Hedron. I mean, it's infinite mana. I don't really need to explain much.

Basalt Monolith plus Rings of Brighthearth makes infinite mana too. Lots of fun.

Staff of Domination goes infinite with any creature that can produce 5 or more mana by tapping. Currently I don't actually have any of those, but it also just works if I get infinite mana in a way described above. This gives me infinite mana, life, untapping of my creatures, tapping of opponents' creatures, and card draw. So basically I win. I will eventually get a Metalworker, which also goes infinite with this as long as I have 3 or more artifacts in hand.

The rest of the cards are all utility, protection, interaction, and/or alternate win conditions, but I'm too lazy to go through what they are all for. I'm sure you are an intelligent human being. You can figure out the rest.

Thanks for checking out my deck! Please, if you have any suggestions let me know, and if you like the deck be sure to use Karn's -3 on that upvote button!
