Purpose of the deck is to use interactive spells to survive the early game and cantrips help to assemble combo of Shared Fate and mana to cast it. Then we use it to beat opponent with their own deck.

Jace, the Mind Sculptor is great for Shared Fate. Shared Fate puts huge deckbuilding restriction, since any wincons or answers to Shared Fatemight backfire once Shared Fate hits the table. Fortunately cards like Jace, the Mind Sculptor and Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver provide legit backup wincon without risking Shared Fate-blowouts, since they are no longer wincons with Shared Fate around.

Since Shared Fate-decks tend to be bad at pressuing planeswalker before they get Shared Fate there is Hero's Downfall in main and Negate and Pithing Needle in side to address this problem.

Inquisition of Kozilek, Thoughtseize and Mana Leak have really nice synergy with Shared Fate by helping to survive early game/resolve Shared Fate, but also being really bad after Shared Fate. After Shared Fate opponent can not apply any pressure and we have all the time in the world to play around Mana Leak.
