Update #3 —July 1, 2018

Haven't updated in awhile, it's good to be back!

This deck is very consistent and resilient. I've been battling a lot of stax and storm decks lately and am always in a position to make a big play/win.

I decided to drop Defense Grid Impact Tremors, Sylvan Scrying and Time of Need. I found that defense grid worked more in my opponents favor than it ever did mine, instead I've added more counter spells of my own and it's worked wonders.

I spurged on a Demonic Tutor which I've been needing for quite some time now and added the new Squee, who happens to create a nice infinite mana combo with FC.

I also added Seeds of Innocence. This card has put in some serious work. Artifacts are so heavily expoited in cEDH and Seeds punishes people for casting out their hand and overreaching.

Thank you to everyone who's supported this primer!

This is a really great looking deck, It looks very tough to play vs. I like how you made a competitive deck for under $1000.

Shane.Allen: Thank you for the compliment! I've been looking at a lot of different decklists and talking with people in the cEDH Discord community. It's come a long way from where it started

Well I think it looks great, would be very hard to fight vs. I think it would surprise alot of decks and take many by surprise. How does it do in your play group ?

Shane.Allen: I win about 60% of the games I play.

Deck's I play against regularly:

So I'm always on my toes trying to stay competitive.

Polybius That's a really great win %. Good bunch of decks to fight keeps you from getting soft.

Looks pretty good! Maybe add Phyrexian Arena to help find Food Chain? I have a Prossh deck but its not quite as competitive, it's more of an Elf ball style deck with less defense from tier 1 strategies. From my own experience I can recommend Priest of Titania... she only costs 2 mana and will often tap for more than 2 with all the elves you are already running. Even if she only taps for 2 its a pretty good deal, and 1 is still ok. Happy gathering :)

Rzepkanut: The only problem I have with Phyrexian Arena is that it takes a few turns to really generate a card advantage with it but I'll consider adding it.

Priest of Titania is neat! I realized as I was putting this together that I have a nice little elf clan in this deck.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Food Chain's cost exiles the creature, so you don't trigger cards like Smothering Abomination

SirSchmoopy111: True, but you do draw cards if you sacrifice leftover tokens from the FC combo to Prossh

Polybius Yeah, feeling pretty silly that i missed that Prossh, Skyraider of Kher is a sac outlet.

This is awesome! I have looked around at many build and deck techs for Prossh and this one takes the price hands down!

Quick question: I have other fetchlands besides the ones you included in your list. Did you limit this because of budget or because do you not think make the deck better? The ones I can add are: Arid Mesa, Marsh Flats, Misty Rainforest, Polluted Delta, Scalding Tarn, and Verdant Catacombs

If you think this would help, what would you remove? Thanks in advance!

yorugua If I were you I'd add in at least four of those lands to take the fetchland total to 6.

I only have 2 in this build because of my limited budget but will definetly be adding more in the near future.

Personally, I'd cut Exotic Orchard and three of the basic lands to add in additional fetches.

I'm glad you enjoyed the primer! Thank you for your support!
