Foolish mortals, you dare to besiege the Shadowkeep of Daxos the Returned? You will soon be lost in an endless maze of despairing enchantments... only when your hearts are black with grief will the spirits come to swallow your souls...

Hello, planeswalkers! This is my current FNM deck for EDH. I usually play aggro or ramp so this makes a nice change of pace for me. If you want to try an enchantment deck that isn't Voltron or want a break from aggro, maybe give this a spin :-)

AIM OF THE DECK:

This deck wants to build a prison/pillowfort around a turn 3 Daxos the Returned. For maximum Dax triggers, I run a tonne of enchantments, each mini package with its own role.

  • Stuff that protects me or slows the opponents.
  • Stuff that draws me cards/makes mana.
  • Retaliatory removal cards like No Mercy and Karmic Justice.
  • A couple of hate enchantments for life-gain/graveyard/wheel/combo decks.

Primarily you want to stall the game out until you can make a token army and swing, hopefully with True Conviction or even Vault of the Archangel in play. It must be noted that this does not happen every game, and you often have to sit back and manage threats while building a fort. This is not my usual playstyle, but there is a strange and powerful allure to fending off the attacks of multiple opponents. The deck has a fair number of board wipes, but also a few enchantments to make Dax indestructible so he can survive the wraths.

Other wincons include; Exquisite Bond + Sanguine Blood combo, late game all stars like Debt to the Deathless Exsanguinate and Debtors' Knell. Don't be afraid if your opponents are making you discard, casting Replenish and then resolving each enchantment in order to maximise your constellation or Dax triggers can put you in full control.

Creature base is small and really just focusing on getting constellation triggers for value/disruption/life drain or gain. I always try to keep my decks fairly competitive but don't really want to be too degenerate so Kismet is about as nasty as it gets so far. My concern is if go too hardcore with prison effects I will get hated out every game, I like to fly a little under the radar in the pod!

It should be noted that Skybind is amazing, not just for bouncing opponents stuff or killing their tokens but also bringing back your best lands untapped.

I'm really keen to get any insight and experiences from you all on how to improve this deck or its interactions! Don't forget to upvote x
