The deck is down to a T, minus the Negate promos, and Unstable lands which collectively would be about $100+ that's over the budget for sure for pauper players. I will get them eventually for aesthetic purposes though I'm a sucker for art. But hey besides that this is a pauper deck. I'll probably get the Hour ov Devastation full art lands for flavor, because of the background in Striped Riverwinder, but enough ranting about how it looks, does it perform as well as it'll look? >;P

Basic synopsis of the deck and what it does;

Control

Kill

Counter

Dig/draw

Hand Disruption

Win con; A splash of recursion/reanimate, slight combo theme. Ideally I want to control the game long enough until I cycle Striped Riverwinder while controlling along the way, we want to be able to dig/draw into Exhume and bring them back. Hopefully by this point they will have few options left, and we can kill their creature, and hopefully slap Eternal Thirst + Gift of Orzhova either or on our big baddies.

Hi guys, I'm a pauper newbie. I was that player who would scoff at most of my commons and think garbage for the most part. Although there are plenty of commons that are one drop staples respectively, I never forsaw myself taking interest in this format based solely around commons altogether..

However, do to life circumstances I'm finding I have to financially budget atm, currently. I do have a big collection, a costly modern deck, and other reasonably valuable cards. However I want to brew a new deck without spending an arm and a leg, so I'm going to give pauper a try, I love control or so I wanted to make something viable for this format.

This deck was originally Grixis, however being pauper we're extremely limited on the good lands that we rely upon for fixing, dorks, and well -- everything really lol. Therefore I concluded it is most likely optimal to run either a mono, or bi colored deck in Pauper. Anything beyond two colors seems not impossible, but 'highly frustrating, impractical, and unreliable' in the sense that it would be to slow, and probably inconsistent to keep up with a mono colored creature deck, especially from a control players perspective. It was my mission to seek control within this format without 'breaking' it, and the challenge of having makeshift board wipes was all the more enjoyment of the challenge. I believe I made it though!?

Upon making this deck, and seeing what it is potentially capable of if pitted against other decks in this format, and it's $cost$ I couldn't help but smirk, and think what fun! >=]
