Serious face jund

Modern Aggro BRG (Jund)

toxonic

Sideboard

So i have made a heap of different jund decks since RTR came out and each one has is its pro's and con's.

I put this list together after looking at a lot of top 8 jund decks and seeing what differences they have with mine. Because jund is fairly well tried and tested there isnt much room for improvement, only room to adapt it to suit the meta. I like jund because it has a lot of similarities with a mono black deck i played pre rotation (creatures will cool abilities and lots of life gain).

The creature base: This consists of 2-for-1's and powerful stand-alone cards. Huntmaster of the Fells   and Thragtusk dodge spot removal buy leaving behind a playmate while Vampire Nighthawk can race quite a few creatures (the lifelink causes a 4 life swing which people often forget). Wolfir Silverheart didnt seem right at first but after some playtesting he can be a godsend, turning any creature into a powerhouse, it does put any creature into range of selensya charm so usually try bond him to a token. An unanswered Olivia Voldaren will just hands down win you the game.

The removal suite: While trying to make sure all bases are covered this seems to be the best setup for my meta. 2x Dreadbore is really useful, dropped down from 3 because i often felt that when i had it i always wanted something else, such as instant speed removal or burn. Garruk Relentless   can kill huntmaster, thragtusk, snapcaster and many other creatures that are seeing loads of play right now, but if he doesnt die from that (or if not used to fight) then he can be a steady stream of wolf tokens which control decks get infuriated by. Mizzium Mortars and Bonfire of the Damned are both great cards for similar reasons, but at the same time can be very different which is why they each get a spot. Pillar of Flame is pillar of flame, no need to explain. Sever the Bloodline is a nice 2-for-1 removal card that is very strong vs zombies AND control (entreat the angels). God that was a lot of writing.

Stensia bloodhall explanation: Stensia Bloodhall has been working very well for me in my meta, especially with Jace, Architect of Thought being a thing. It doesnt mess with the mana base very much especially when Farseek is available, and will put a clock on control decks.

When vsing control theres a fair few things to sideboard. Liliana of the Veil, Duress, Slaughter Games and Staff of Nin all go in, maybe Vraska the Unseen as well depending on the deck.Drop things like mortars, bonfire, ultimate price, whatever isnt going to help in the long term.

Aggro matchups require less sideboard, Abrupt Decay and Mizzium Mortars go in and you drop Dreadbore and a Rakdos's Return (not very good vs naya due to Loxodon Smiter.
