4x Breeding Pool ? I love the deck, but I had issues with test plays where I had blue spells, but no blue mana, or green spells, but no green mana. The breeding pools will help.

May 8, 2014 2:08 p.m.

Didgeridooda says... #2

Thank you, breeding pool is a rare so can not go in the deck. It is pauper, only commons allowed. I tried guildgates, but they were too slow. Took away my turn 2. If there were a good breeding pool equivalent in common that would be awesome. I will try the guildgates out again, and see how much they slow me down.

Try altering the land balance. 12 Forest and 9 Island instead.

Didgeridooda says... #4

That is where I had it before. Probably a good idea to go back to that number. Switched it. Thank you.

Do you think that is better then the Distortion Strike ? I find the +1 power, and rebound to generally end the game. I have never needed it beyond it's second turn, so I don't know.

May 10, 2014 3:16 p.m.

kadonian says... #7

Yes I do and it also lets you scry to get more Giant Growth like spells

May 10, 2014 3:18 p.m.

Didgeridooda says... #8

kadonian the thing is that this deck wins turn 3 normally, and I think that would slow me down too much. Scry is a slow methodical mechanic. Distortion Strike is almost a giant growth, and unblockable in one. I have quite a few ways to win on turn 2 as well.

May 10, 2014 3:25 p.m.

+1. Maybe aqueous form? You have one unblockable already, but giving the others the same ability may help.

You know, I had Vapor Snag in here in the initial build, but it actually slowed me down. I should put together a sideboard, and it will go there though.

Daze is not modern legal though is it?

May 12, 2014 4:47 p.m.

nayaftw says... #12

Pauper isn't modern, it's pauper...

May 12, 2014 4:49 p.m.

Looks good. I enjoy simic infect. Never tried pauper though.

May 13, 2014 7:55 p.m.

Didgeridooda says... #14

nayaftw I like to play mine against other people's modern decks. So I keep them modern legal.

Servo says... #15

Not sure the purpose of having spreading seas sideboard. Simic Guildgate is a really good way to fix mana at common.

May 15, 2014 5:50 p.m.

Didgeridooda says... #16

Just wanted to fill it out. I have not really figured out the sideboard yet, or if I will ever need it. I have been thinking about the guildgate, but it would take away my turn 2 win.

Hilarious. Doesn't work for Pauper but I used to do some tricks with Livewire Lash and infect that really annoyed my opponents.

May 18, 2014 9:10 p.m.

Didgeridooda says... #18

I tried Livewire Lash one time, but it was too slow. This deck wins pretty quick, and that 4 mana is all it takes sometimes.

May 18, 2014 9:32 p.m.

Didgeridooda says... #19

I did not try it in here because it is pauper. I tried it in another deck a while ago.

May 18, 2014 9:33 p.m.

pampolinineto says... #20

I Like your deck, I will play mine a little bit with some of your suggestions as sideboard. I don't think scry is that slow since you increase your chances of getting something that you want (so does Brainstorm , in my oppinion)

how about Llanowar Augur ? they work great! like an Might of Old Krosa for pauper... and provides you trample.. it can, sometimes, be better than Giant Growth

May 19, 2014 7:56 p.m.

If you are having mana trouble, try out Lotus Petal .

June 1, 2014 11:35 p.m.

Didgeridooda says... #22

I need 12 lotus petals. I don't have any,but I need to get some for my pauper you are right. They are amazing.

Didgeridooda says... #23

The only thing is that I am keeping this modern legal.

June 2, 2014 12:09 p.m.

Bnon says... #24

Simic Guildgate would help with mana fixing I like the idea also +1

June 28, 2014 8:48 p.m.

Didgeridooda says... #25

Thank you Bnon. The guildgate is something I keep thinking about, but it slowed me down too much, so I went with out it. It takes away turn 2, and hurts turn 3 as well. Speed is key with this deck so far. If I were to make it more resilient, and work towards the mid-game, then I would use that for sure.

Sorry I said +1 but forgot to so I did

Almost Pauper....LOL Rancor takes it out of Pauper because it is uncommon

November 24, 2014 6:10 p.m.

qunqiyah says... #29

What happened to the +1 button?

November 24, 2014 6:15 p.m.

Didgeridooda says... #30

Rancor was printed as a common in it's first printing. To be pauper legal a card must have been printed as a common at some point.

There are some madness cards that were printed as commons in MTGO, but never on paper. Even those are legal. The ones I do run in there are the common ones too, so that makes it better haha.

November 26, 2014 10:16 a.m.

Didgeridooda says... #31

I updated the set on rancor to avoid more confusion.
