With Llanowar Elves now in Dominaria standard, we can take full advantage of more aggressively costed creatures. Bringing us to Selesnya Aggro, Dominaria edition.
With the coming of this awesome new set, we are presented with awesome new cards in white and green. One such card caught my eye from the moment it was spoiled: Steel Leaf Champion. Normally, I would dismiss this card for having use in exclusively mono-green decks. However, Llanowar Elves makes it much easier to run it in a two-color deck, like selesnya.
Granted, white was never my favorite color when it comes to mtg. At the same time, there were irresistible cards presented to us during spoilers. These cards include Shanna, Sisay’s Legacy and Seal Away. I absolutely love these cards. Shanna is more likely to see play in token strategies but slots perfectly into our heavily creature-based deck. Seal Away is one of the few pieces of removal that are available to us, and boy is it good. At first I was thinking "meh, it's all right" until there was that one key word: flash. My mind went directly to Hazoret the Fervent and the destruction this card would rain upon her. Mind=Blown. It's a wonder that this cards is only uncommon, I am in loveeeeeeee.
Overall, with the cards of other standard sets, I think Selesnya Aggro has serious potential in standard. It has the removal, the aggressiveness, and flexibility required of that of a standard deck. Please upvote if you like the deck and I am 100% open to suggestions! Thanks for looking.
