Backstory:

I run an Aurelia, the Warleader equipment deck and a Sheoldred, Whispering One graveyard deck (among many others) in commander. I wanted to bring those themes and colors together because of the high amount of tutoring, card draw, and control between black and white. I settled upon choosing Selenia, Dark Angel as this deck's commander because the other Orzhov commanders didn't quite fit the equipment theme. Selenia does not offer much offensive power, but she does have two great traits: she can be brought back to your hand at instant speed and she can fly. This means that nobody can destroy her or take control of her, she'll only ever cost 5 mana since she won't be getting bumped back into the command zone, and she'll be able to freely deal combat damage to your opponents to activate equipment abilities (provided there are no flying blockers). I'll admit that I also have a soft spot for lesser-used commanders, so I wanted to give Selenia the opportunity to shine.

How To Play This Deck:

This deck has 1 main objective: get equipment onto Selenia and have her attack for lethal. The card draw spells and tutors filter the deck for the best equipment. The low-cost creatures serve as equipment holders until Selenia can hit the battlefield (or stick with the creatures if the opponent's don't have lifegain).
