This is my Seizan, Perverter of Truth mono-black EDH deck. It focuses on playing a highly political game of pillowfort/group slug. The main theme of the deck is to offer additional cards to everyone at the table at the cost of life. Essentially, everyone will be playing black card draw!

The catch is that even if your opponents are wise to your game, you'll be providing fuel to the fire for every other deck at the table. You'll soon be the smallest threat on the table when everyone else starts dropping their biggest creatures and spells. At the same time, you'll also be providing everyone else potential access to their removal. In the end, you'll fade as a target since the table will be busy fighting each other.

Eventually, their mana curve fails to keep up and the table ends up slowly discarding and taking damage from Seizan, Liliana's Caress, Megrim, Fate Unraveler, and Underworld Dreams. In the meantime, you'll be gaining life from Ivory Tower and Venser's Journal and other black drain effects.

Games with Seizan do not last long. Most players are unwilling to remove Seizan since he provides so much draw. Occasionally, players will even defend Seizan in order to protect the draw effect. The game ultimately ends as you kill off crippled opponents with an Exsanguinate or simply as players kill each other for you while you remain pristine from the fighting.

My favorite part of the deck is its inevitability. Given enough time, the deck will prevail and drain down its opponents with very little mana investment. However, piloting the deck requires a fair bit of politics. Come on too hard and fast, and the deck draws too much attention to itself. Helping out players who missed land drops with additional cards from Seizan will make you many friends early on as well as being able to convince the table that you are not a major threat at the current stage of the game.

Look. I'll be honest with you. I really wanted Waste Not to work. I really did. Truth of the matter is it's way too narrow for what it offers. The timing and control of what they discard is just not strong enough in this deck to get maximum benefit out of the card. Most of the time, I got floating black mana at the ends of my opponent's turns.

Instead, I'm just swapping back in the old grave-hate. Yes, I know it effectively turns off a few of the other cards in the deck, namely Bloodchief Ascension and Massacre Wurm, but sometimes, you just need grave-hate.
