In the back of the bar on Purgatory to where the music was quieter you could see several figures- some of who were drinking while others who were listening rapturously and totally engrossed in the story an elder man was telling about his adventures on the plane of Kamigawa. A man named Cmdr. Shepard laughed while the Krogan on his right made a comment of "squishy" the spirits there probably were.

As you approach, two of the figures who you recognized as Sydri, Galvanic Genius and Merieke Ri Berit get up to address you. Before they could say a word, the elder man smiles up at you and invites you to join them and to listen in on the story he's currently telling about how he might Avacyn, Angel of Hope in a Woodland Cemetery once looking for a mighty artifact that was once lost and how he joined up with her in that adventure.

Welcome to my Legendary Deck where some of the most powerful creatures can be found. If you're looking for a story, this deck has what you are looking for- and so much more because each time I tell a story, the cards are different as well as the location. But if it's a fight, be prepared to make hard choices on who to deal with whether it's Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite or the Sen TripletsBecause if it's war, then you are facing one of the most powerful groups the world has ever known.

UPDATE:Will update all of this as there have been a few major changes to some of the cards that are "Core" to this deck like Skillborrower.

Imagine this.... having all of this in one deck.- A deck that plays differently every time.- A deck that is consistently "Inconsistent".- A deck with powerful Dragons in it.- A Toolbox deck which always keeps your opponents guessing.- A Legendary Deck full of synergy with a few combos.- A deck with all five Praetors in it. (Believe me, it's hard to do)- A Fun combo-synergy theme Deck that even tells a story. Like how the 6 alternate Primeval dragons united all of New Phrexia together with the 6 Praetors. - Competitive, yet fun and versatile deck with which you can play against most any deck and still win or that will at least put up a good fight.

So why should you play this deck?- If you want a REAL challenge in mastering all 5 colors or at least in honing your skill with devotion.- If you like playing Commander with lots of creatures. (There are about 38- 39 creatures in this deck at any given time)- If you like reanimating creatures.- If you like playing with a fun deck filled with powerful Legendary cards.- IF YOU WANT to have access to all other colors.- If you want a versatile deck.- If you want a Training Deck; (I often use this deck to help "fine-tune" other decks if others need help in figuring out how to make their decks be better.)- Able to adept to most anything- including but limited too; land destruction, milling, having a color shut off (like from Ionna), from opponents making quick plays, or from counter and control cards. - Has powerful cards and can make powerful plays that doesn't always dominate the battlefield.- Gives others a fair chance ie; edric, forbidden garden, selvala.- Can be competitive.- This deck can almost do anything you want- except for stax and discarding. Yes there are a few soft locks in the deck but I hate locking a player out of a game unless I need to.- Does better 1 vs 1 than in multiplayer.- The deck plays well sometimes better after partial Paris (called Partial for short) mostly because if you missed lands, land ramp, then you'll hit it in a turn or two. - Main weaknesses; land destruction, theft odd counter/ control decks.

And for those of you who should not play this deck....- For those of you who have trouble handling 3 or more colors.(No shame in that btw, but playing all 5 colors can confuse alot of people)- This deck is a toolbox deck and while it has win conditions, it usually requires alot of digging and stalling which can be annoying to some people and can be boring.- If you play Mono Blue in Commander and you strive to play a controlling deck because this deck is completely random. At it's heart, this is a red blue deck with a splash of black in it.- If you want a clear direction with which to play; either with a General or with a certain playstyle. My playstyle is strictly "Draw, Creatures, Burn, and Randomness" so while this deck is perfect for me it might not be for certain others because they feel that is "all over the board" (which is true btw).

And yes, this deck can hold it's own against many other types of decks- including slivers, control decks, graveyard decks and even my friend Derek's Mono black zombie deck. I have personally beat my friend Jasper who has one of the best sliver decks I've ever seen and have managed to hold off and to beat someone with a french blue/ white control deck 3/5 of the time. (it was about 9 games that we played and I won more than half of them.) Got a quick update, I've been able to win 4 times now with skillborrower alone by making a million copies of her and sacrificing her to altar or dementia to mill everyone out of their library.

If you can visualize this, then this deck is for you. This is one of the most fun- but slightly competitive EDH Decks I've built in 2013 that I've polished quite a bit. It's designed around three cards in Particular. First, Skill Borrower, (UPDATE: I took Skillborrower out and replaced her with Leyline of Singularity because I'm taking this deck the "Legendary" route where I'm trying to replace every single card with a Legendary card.) Second, Reki, History of Kamigawa, and lastly, Scion of the Ur-Dragon. Reki is a HUGE draw power for this deck because his trigger is a casting trigger for legendary cards and he is almost lethal with Maelstrom Wanderer. My general is perfect for this deck and as I've found out, he works just as well inside the deck as when he's the general when I'm playing Commander.

[EDH PRIMER] 1. What kind of deck is this? At the very heart of this deck, this deck is about cool Legendary cards (both old and new), limiting your opponents abilities, and synergy with other cards. There is a small element of Midrange, Control, and some ramp/ mana rocks. Lastly, this is important to me personally, but this deck is a customized story that I can pull out to tell someone else. It almost always consists of Reki + a companion starting out at some legendary land going to some other place to get or to do something.

2. What kind of event or environment is it meant for? This deck is primarily meant for Commander/ EDH but can be used in pretty much any casual game. I personally use this either for EDH games or to allow someone else to test their deck against mine. If they can beat my deck with theirs, they have a good deck.3. What is the deck's general strategy in two to four sentences? "To be consistently "inconsistent". The general idea is to ramp/ use mana rocks and/ or use bouncelands to help smooth out the landbase and to play 1-3 CMC cards until you can play your heavy hitters. For late game, try to win through aggro or combo if possible. If not, try to help someone else win.4. What were the one to three biggest goals in the deck's design? To replace every card with a "Legendary" version, to restrict your opponents' and to play with "powerful" cards.

I've finally decided to turn this into a 5 Color EDH Primer because no one else has decided to do a 5 Color Legendary Primer Deck. Yes this kind of a deck was done before and here is the link for a deck that helped me to build my deck up to a point until I decided to include a decent amount of artifacts as they do matter in this deck. 5 Color Legends It's taken me years to get this far and I'm not done yet tweaking and making this deck perfect. It's quite possible that it will never be perfect (my idea of this deck being perfect is every creature in this deck being a legendary creature) as new legendary creatures will continually be printed out that may be better suited for this deck. So for all intent and purposes, this deck's direction is lay back gathering resources and making "friends" through cards like Forbidden orchard or Edric until you can pull a living death or a Lurking Predator or if you can get +1 or more Predators on the field. It is mainly a Mid-Range, Control type of deck that dabbles in ramp and in Combo.

Why this is a Primer Deck...This deck is what you could call, a training deck. It is perfect in the sense of beingable to help someone to play test, challenge or to give any deck that he or she may have built a run for their money. It's fairly flexible and for the most part runs fine without using the general, Scion. Scion himself should be used either to attempt to generate card advantage, to get the game moving or to attempt to try and win somehow. However that's not the reason why I decided to make my deck be a 5 color legendary edh primer. The real reason is because there are no 5 color legendary edh decks out there and I wanted to help others at least get started- if not on building their own legendary deck than on building their own 5 color deck. However there's lots of 5 color decks out there with great advice on how to build and to improve one's own deck. For example, I learned that if I were to get steel tyrant on the field along with mycosynth lattice, I could deal combat damage to an opponent and to steal all of his or her permanents and that could possibly be another win condition.

So while creatures like Necrotic Ooze, Kiki Jikki and every single one of my creatures add to this deck, but no one creature is the main focus of this deck. They all add to it and as a whole, every creature supports each other and adds in great synergy to the rest of the deck.

Alright, so some cards like Rafiq aren't in there but the deck got to be so big and since it changed entirely because I swapped out Conspiracy for Zombie Infestation and then finally for Kruphix (this is to answer the need for me to create creatures while allowing me to make use of cards that I might have to discard. I replaced Zombie Infestation because Kruphix was the final piece missing from the storytelling aspect of my deck (as well as a way to store extra mana in games) as up until late 2013, I had no God in my deck, but now I do. Erebos, is in my deck sometimes but isn't a staple unlike Kruphix.)

As far as combos and Synergy goes....Altar of Dementia + Deathrender + Fecundity For drawing out your deck only to living death. You can continue this combo with Zombie Infestation and to recycle your graveyard you could use Elixir of Immortality or anything with instant speed graveyard shuffling.UPDATE: This has only happened twice in testing; I've taken this out a long time ago. It's fun but it never happens enough.

Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker + Mystic Snake For some reusable countering if the need arises. I've personally done this combo quite a few times. If you want creatures back, just make sure you have a black mana open and Doomed Necromancer on the field instead. UPDATE: This also works with doomed necromancer or with anything else that puts Mystic Snake directly into play.

Deceiver Exarch + Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker The good old Kiki-Jiki Pestermite combo but instead of Pestermite, it's Deceiver Exarch, which is better for defensive purposes.UPDATE: This works great with Purphoros.

Altar of Dementia + Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker + Skill Borrower A surprisingly fun way to win. You win by making a billion copies of Skill Borrower with Kiki Jiki on top of your library and then you sacrifice them all to mill all your opponents' cards out of their library. I did that two games back to back one day. This combo also works with Necrotic Ooze funny enough.

Sensei's Divining Top + Skill Borrower A solid but fun way to use Skill Borrower as it keeps her safe and always allows you to rearrange and look at the top of your library while keeping her safe. UPDATE: This also works with brainstorm but I plan on adding in Scroll Rack somehow just for use with Skillborrower. It works without her in case I get in situations where I need a creature on the field or if I missed a land drop.

Skill Borrower or Necrotic Ooze + Borborygmos Enraged A fun way to deal damage. Not really a combo but with the bouncelands and exploration you'll have quite a few lands to throw away. Works well with Exploration and Life from the Loam. Lastly this works even better with Necrotic Ooze as this ability sticks around longer... usually.

Avacyn, Angel of Hope + Kira, Great Glass-Spinner One of the best ways to make your board-state indestructible as well as to make it harder to exile any of your creatures.UPDATE: This is probably the best I can do to keep my board position "secure" against most wrath or exile cards.

Marchesa, the Black Rose or Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Wizard Replica Great for being able to take the player with the most life and to be able to safely soft counter a spell you don't like and to still have this guy come back to your side of the field.UPDATE: Mikaeus is actually better as it makes my guys stronger and I don't have to attack if I want them to get that +1/+1 counter and to be safe from boardwipes. But just to be clear about one thing, I've had more fun with Marchesa is than with Mikaeus, the Unhallowed.

Havengul Lich + Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir This is great for being able to flash out creatures from your graveyard. Solid, but hard to get to due to the high mana cost and the fact that Teferi gets killed quickly.UPDATE: Might go back to this now that I got Animar in the deck. This was fun and I did win a game by pulling a Craterhoof Behometh with Havengul Lich. Sort of was a funny way to win.

Alternate wacky ways to win. Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite + Zombie Infestation Win with big zombies. Works ok with Trading post but not as well.Medomai the Ageless + Shapesharer You can lock an opponent out of the game with this combo if they control Medomai or if you can flicker Medomai repeatedly.

Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind + Ophidian Eye or Tandem Lookout Funny. I've had this win condition in my deck from the very beginning starting out with curiosity (which I took out over a year ago) but I've never posted this when I first made this decklist. Well this win con works like this or with my general and right now is the only combo win con that I have in my deck. It's my goto win strategy when all else fails since winning through combos aren't really my style. However I do recognize them as being a necessity when playing in all 5 colors since winning is hard enough to do competitively.

Atarka, World Render + Steel Hellkite This is another win con that is pretty simple to get to if you have enough mana and if no one disrupts your combo. First off, if you're not familiar with the Scion + moltensteel combo, this is exactly the same but since I use and rely more on artifacts more, I use Steel Hellkite which is the artifact version (which also Skillborrower can use btw).

Step 1: You search for Atarka and respond to that ability before that ability resolves and go search for Steel Hellkite.Step 2: You pour whatever mana you can into the first of Steel Hellkite's abilities since they are actually passed onto Scion and are not lost when Scion becomes a copy of another creature. (And yes this is verified through the Scion + Moltensteel combo. Use that as reference if anyone doubts you or wants proof)Step 3: Swing for win with Scion and with any other dragons you control. (This is why I consider Atarka to be slightly stronger than Dragon Tyrant, because Atarka affects all of my other dragons and not just herself.)

UPDATE:LAST BUT NOT LEAST.... I will both post a list of what you could trade out for what that will help to keep the colors equal in the deck, to help show you what is viable to be replaced by what in my sideboard and lastly I will post up later the actual legendary version of this with a link to this. This is the Combo version of my Legendary deck that works best with Kiki-Jiki and I will post the actual Legendary version later. Hope you all have enjoyed this as there will be more to come.!

This was more of a side objective to find the perfect card to replace skill borrower with. While I love that card to death, in the end the perfect card to replace it with was... Leyline of Singularity.

Yeah it doesn't do much just like Skillborrower but first it destroys tokens as all nonland permanents become legendary, 2, it allows me to use it with cards like honor worn shaku and for all of my legendary permanents to become mana rocks, and 3, it allows me to use cards like empress gallina to steal other "legendary" cards permanently.
