With the amazing Deathrite Shaman banned, the direction of this deck switch gears to focus more on the potential of Varolz, the Scar-Striped .

Using Varolz, the Scar-Striped ability to scavenge: Death's Shadow, Force of Savagery and/or Phyrexian Soulgorger . With a cheap mana cost and the amount of counters you obtain from these creatures, its a usual strategy to put them on Lotleth Troll who is already a buffed up creature for the creatures discarded. Its also not a bad idea to pop them on Varolz, the Scar-Striped , which you can sacrifice a Golgari Thug or any other creature you like to regenerate him!

This is a Dredge deck so you need self milling. You want to get Golgari Thug into your graveyard as soon as you can. This will allow you to self-mill 4 cards every turn, giving you scavenge creatures. By getting Golgari Thug in your hand from the dredge ablility, you can discard him with Lotleth Troll to repeat the process! Grisly Salvage is a card you want to play if you have it in your hand by turn 2. I call this a "5 Scry," where you can either grab Varolz, the Scar-Striped or just have more scavenge with a Golgari Thug in your graveyard. Its also fun when you dredge Narcomoeba, for it becomes a flyer chump blocker or a potential threat for a opponent if you were to scavenge Death's Shadow for a example.

2x Abrupt Decay are in here for one main reason, destroy that Rest in Peace or whatever else Wizard's invented to make dredge hard. If you happen to play against a white deck, Put 3x in the main board as well as 2x Surgical Extraction, just so you can get rid of the threat forever.
