MIDRANGE BEATDOWN

Remember to +1 if you like the description!

So, RUG has drawn my eye since Wizards announced Khans was a wedge set. With the Meta starting to unfold, Temur has the best mid - game out of any clan. The Grull shell from last rotation was already strong, but with Savage Knuckleblade, Temur Ascendancy , Dig Through Time and Temur Charm , we have a real reason to splash blue. Then you start realizing the combos you get off Temur Ascendancy ... So Midrange Temur it is!

THE MONSTERS

Elvish Mystic: Turn one man a acceleration is universally appreciated. I think everyone knows his value here.

Stormbreath Dragon & Polukranos, World Eater: Grull best friends for life! These two present a very formidable threat base in this deck. The fact that we can get them out early makes them all the scarier.

Genesis Hydra: A mana sink that will make your opponent want to quit. Almost always gaurenteed to be a two headed threat. Explosives are just what we need here.

Savage Knuckleblade: The baddest mother to come from KTK, and half the inspiration for this desk. His ability to beef up to power through or bounce back make him a viable, flexible threat.

Rattleclaw Mystic: Mana fixer and explosive plays. If you have an Elvish Mystic, a turn 2 morph into a turn 3 6 mana play is very scary. Best of all, he can trade with Goblin Rabblemaster.

THE MAGIC

Temur Ascendancy : Fires of Yavimaya with a draw mechanic is so strong, making this deck very difficult for control decks to gain the edge. Immediate board presence and card advantage makes this card my second piece of inspiration. Combos with Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker , Savage Knuckleblade, and Genesis Hydra so well, this deck holds a scary card advantage.

Temur Charm : Removal, counter and an excellent finisher? Yes please. The removal is average, but the counter is swell and finisher are swell. The best part is, it eliminates 90% of all defensive threats in standard... Brimaz, King of Oreskos, Courser of Kruphix, Sylvan Caryatid, Elspeth, Sun's Champion and all forms of tokens and mana dorks.

Dig Through Time: An absolute badass in finding exactly what you need when you need it. Fetchlands have natural synergy here, most excellent for digging for Temur Ascendancy or those delicious threats that combo with them.

Crater's Claws : Burn everything. The extra couple damage is always nice.

THE WALKERS

Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker : Sarkhan is back, baby, and he's better than ever! What a badass. The utility of being an additional stormbreath dragon and Flame Slash in one makes him a winner to me. Oh, and his ultimate makes control players rage.

Kiora, the Crashing Wave: A little defensive goddess and mana accelerator, she just sweetens the deal with her presence. Her ultimate is a win con in itself.

Xenagos, the Reveler : Our dear Grull god in Walker form will be a boon to this deck. Between providing a threat or blocker when needed and being a big ramp engine, this guy can save you from a losing game.

THE SIDEBOARD

Anger of the Gods: Basic answer to token based decks and general aggro matchups.

Stubborn Denial : Excellent counter spell vs control, and keeps us on the curve.

Back to Nature: Great answer to G/B Constelation, Ascendancy combo decks, and Abzan shenanigans.

Setessan Tactics: Drop in vs Mono-Green and other big monster/midrange archetype.

Surrak Dragonclaw: The big Lebowski, this man stomps U/B and other control decks. What's good!?!?
