DISCLAIMER: this deck is not meant for a very competitive setting, it's rather for semi-competitive games with a playgroup of good players.

Also: If you can help me fix my mana base, I'd appreciate that a lot! Overall I feel like it's a bit slow...

The current iteration of the deck is about getting infinite combat steps and beating all of your opponents to shit in a single turn. Whilst the voltron sub-theme still exists in the deck, it's not the major mechanic that I am aiming at. I am still struggling to make the deck more consistent, mainly with card draw. I found that Tireless Tracker and Nissa, Vastwood Seer   (pseudo card draw) are perfect for that purpose, but overall, I feel like I do need more card draw.

  1. One of the main combos in the deck is the usual package of getting Savage Ventmaw and Hellkite Charger out, in addition to another smaller mana dork (and preferably with a good evasive beater) and swing in for infinite combat phases.

  2. Otherwise there is also the Sword of Feast and Famine and Aggravated Assault combo that allows infinite combat steps.

  3. I found Duskwatch Recruiter   to be a really good and underrated creature. Late Game, when you have your Mirrari's Wake or Zendikar Resurgent out, you can basically cycle through most of your library to dig for the pieces you want. Usually for Kozilek, Butcher of Truth to bring the game to an end.

  4. Alternatively, Samut, Voice of Dissent and Elspeth, Knight-Errant are a potent combination as well. If you're playing against a less removal heavy deck, the game is over very quickly once both are on the field.

Samut, voice of tappy-tappy utility on a stick:

  1. MOTHER. OF. RUNES. Maybe my favourite creature in the deck. Giving a creature you control protection from a color is huge. I only recognised how good Mother of Runes was when my friend ButterMyBiscuit showed the mother of runes block, and give herself protection from a color of the creature that it is blocking. Now the funny thing is that people almost always forget about Samut's untap ability. Usually keeping one white mana open makes them scared of a Path to Exile or Swords to Plowshares. But when Mother of Runes is out you usually can block something by surprise.

  2. Intrepid Hero fatty removal on a stick. What more is there to say? Politically, it also keeps your opponents at bay or wins you an ally when you destroy a threat that's been bothering them. You can also do the tappy-tappy dance with Samut.

  3. Ulvenwald Tracker more removal on a stick. He's hiding behind his Windborn Muse? I smash! She just played her commander? I SMASH! Too bad though that Samut's double strike has no effect while fighting. Otherwise this guy is really good at dealing with annoying weenies your opponents have, where intrepid hero can't bother to be as intrepid...

Updates Add

Removed Elemental Bond as I found it to be too slow. It usually does nothing the turn it comes into play, also creatures negative synergy with creatures that don't have at least 3 power. I replaced it with Abundance, this changes the mana curve a bit (which is still kind of not good :p look at the number of 6 drops I have). I don't really know how it will perform, it will need some testing to say the least, It doesn't do anything either the turn it comes in, except I can follow up with a rishkar's expertise or hunter's insight, which means that I already have an a**full of mana at hand and should be winning already. But on the other hand I need some draw fixing, and I want to have Abundance and Sylvan Library in play both at the same time, draw three and not lose 8 life.

Also removed Selvala's Stampede, and added back in knight of the reliquiary. I'd rather consistently fetch my Kessig wolfrun instead. I might sideboard it back in in multiplayer games, depending on how the deck plays out. Also brigid the midget has to go, and instead put in a Qasali Pridemage, for more samut buffs and much needed enchantment removal.
