Saitama's Eggs and Seasoning

Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest is just a guy who's a hero for fun.

This deck has a number of interactive ways to make use of Saitama's prowess trigger, spells that flat out give him double-strike (though you probably won't use it) and can have some recurring interactions thanks to some fun artificing. There has been a considerable amount of tweaking from my original build, which was about as functional a deck as Storm Crow + Razor Boomerang is as a combo.

Turned out Saitama was just missing out on his eggs for breakfast.

The #1 Shu Yun deck on T/O!

Why not?
Angel's Grace + Warrior's Oath - cheap to cast for a Time Walk. How neat is that? Auriok Salvagers and Lion's Eye Diamond combo off to make make Shu Yun quite the neat person. Alternatively, you could just use Pyrite Spellbomb and kill everyone.

And suppose we don't want to one-punch someone? Suppose Saitama missed an assignment and some other hero needed to step in. Enter: Saheeli Rai and Felidar Guardian. Why swing with One Punch Man, when you infinitely attack with One Cat Scratch?

I find this deck beautiful and if I were to ever successfully build it, I'd play the opening theme whenever there was a Commander Rollcall

I found a friend. It looks like he trained hard; you can tell because he lost his hair, too.

n0bunga looking at this now would it be possible to add Genos in somehow or is that role filled by Tezzeret?

KuraiU My initial thought would be to make Monastery Mentor into Genos! He and Shu Yun are practically BFFs.

n0bunga eh true, so are you going to have edits for each of Saitama's allies and friends or what?

Maybe Final Fortune instead of Warrior's Oath. You can cast it instant speed, and it's cheaper then oath.

n0bunga says... #9

blazingscout they both cost ; and while Fortune may be better for a Sunforger target, you're not exactly going to be casting this on any turn but your own.

Plus, I need to be reminded that:

You don't lose if you've already won.

Best reminder text.

BindMind yeah I think this works as a sideboard for whenever we do a 4-pod. It's a pretty high equip cost though.

Doesn't this need more haste? I mean Saitama was even faster than Genos on rocket boosters. Get an Expedite in there because prowess, because haste out of nowhere, because cantrip and because the art looks like Saitama's legs when running. Maybe over a non-optimal counterspell like leak?

n0bunga says... #14

Yeah I had Expedite originally, it was fine but never came when I wanted it. Since this is more artifact heavy, Hammer of Purphoros may not be bad. Otherwise Fervor and Emblem of the Warmind seem better as permanent ways to make my creatures have haste.

Oh my god, I need to get my Shu Yun altered now. Why didn't I think of this? I've been one-shoting people for months with my duel Commander Yun list and it never crossed my mind.

Walking Ballista would be a good fit here. It combos well with LED + bomber man but can also be brought back by him.

I'm building a Shu-Yun deck, but mine is going to be more Aura/Enchantment focused. I got the idea when I pulled Monastery Mentor from a booster a couple days ago. This deck is still A LOT of help though!! Thanks!
