Recursive grinding to victory! Open to suggestions!
Ive brewed a bunch for dominaria standard and there is a good chance this is what I play.
Break Down
ENGINE
Sage of Lat-Nam is the engine of the deck allowing us to get superb card advantage. A side note is that you should almost never sack a creature on your turn. Always chump block the opponent’s big threat and then sack before damage.
Scrap Trawler is part 2 of the engine. For every artifact you sacrifice with sage you essentially draw 2. It also helps recover from board wipes a bit.
Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle allows us to keep our engine piece’s on the battlefield since they are bound to get hit with removal. It itself is just a powerhouse if unanswered.
Teferi, Hero of Dominaria is broken
FINISHER
Walking Ballista turns out to be a really great finisher in super grindy games (which are the best kinds of games).
**SACKABLE JUNK
filligree familiar is implement of improvement on a stick, but since the life gain is upon etb and it can chump block, 3 cmc is a reasonable rate.
REMOVAL
Walking Ballista just keeps coming back and pings the opponents creatures to deadness.
Heart of Kiran steals a lot of games before the opponent can get on there feet.
Cast Out, Settle the Wreckage, and Fumigate are all 1-3 ofs to keep my opponents guessing. I hate it when people know you have settle in hand just because you hold up 4 mana.
Slaughter the Strong is very very good right now against current meta. Takes down hazorets, steel leaf champions, ghaltas, Lyras. We have low power creatures so it hits the opponent significantly harder.
Again, I’m open to suggestions questions and critiques so fire away!
