Sideboard

Maybeboard

The main idea of this deck is to take control of enemy creatures, use them for our own gain, and then sacrifice them - also for our own gain.

Disowned Ancestor is our 1 drop with the intention of protecting us early game. It also gives us something worthwhile to spend excess mana on.

Act of Treason, and Mob Rule let us take control of the opponent's creatures, so that we may use them ourselves. After we take control of enemy creatures, we can either use/attack with them and then sacrifice them, or sacrifice them for an effect that would confer a bigger benefit before attacking.

Our cards that allow us to sacrifice creatures are: Vampiric Rites, Altar's Reap, Bone Splinters , Blazing Hellhound , Collateral Damage , Nantuko Husk, and Voracious Null

Then, if we have no creatures to take control of, or no way of taking control of them in our hand, we can use Carrier Thrall and the tokens they create for sacrifices.

Both Grim Haruspex and Zulaport Cutthroat benefit us every time a creature we control dies. This is great, seeing as how the very nature of this deck is to gain control of creatures and sacrifice them.

Unfortunately, Dictate of Erebos, Tymaret, the Murder King and Harness by Force will be sorely missed as they rotate out of standard.

Final decisions in the deck as well as the sideboard are still up in the air. Suggestions are greatly appreciated.

After doing some play-testing, I think I like the Ruthless Ripper the best as a 1 drop option. The Shambling Goblin is great for sacrificing and helping to rid the board of anything with only 1 toughness, so I've wanted to keep it in the sideboard, but I ran into another problem. Since there is only so much space in the sideboard and Archfiend of Depravity is very good versus anyone with a lot of creatures, it must stay - especially over any Shambling Goblin.

The biggest threats I've faced with this deck so far that exploit our weaknesses are decks with a lot of removal, and decks with a lot of counterspells. Because of this, I have made much needed changes to the sideboard. Duress has been added as a 3-of to try to help against counters (though I think I may need more, or something else to help against this problem). For decks with a lot of removal, I have added A LOT to the maybeboard (Dutiful Return, Empty the Pits, Gravepurge, Macabre Waltz, etc), and while I'm not sure of the best answers as of yet, (advice is much appreciated) I think that having 2 more Sultai Emissary to switch in and Dutiful Attendants will help keep creatures on our side of the board. This is very important, as we need creatures for ammunition in this deck. Again, help and suggestions are much appreciated.
