My attempt at a midrange Boros battalion deck, with setting up a solid fighting force with battalion triggers, along with burn spells and Oblivion Ring for control. Suggestions welcome! Not stuck on the battalion theme, but would like to continue running Firemane Avenger, Frontline Medic, and Aurelia, the Warleader. Also would like some better ideas for creature control spells, especially exiles- considering running some Path to Exile in here.

I do realize Basandra, Battle Seraph is not Modern legal- looking to replace her with a card once I decide on one. [EDIT] Replaced Basandra with a 3rd copy of Aurelia to make this deck fully Modern legal.

[EDIT 04/19/17] Replaced 1x Wojek Halberdiers with 1x Legion Loyalist. Will likely repeat this again once I get another copy. Am also hoping to swap in another Oblivion Ring at some point, and possibly one more copy of Legion's Initiative. Am also probably gonna sideboard Tajic, Blade of the Legion- he's just not quite evasive or control-ly enough, in comparison to Firemane Avenger. I'd rather use those two slots for either more Lightning Bolt, Boros Charm, Lightning Helix, or Path to Exile.

[EDIT 04/20/17] Took out the last Wojek Halberdiers in favor of a fourth Oblivion Ring.

[EDIT 09/17/17] Made some very significant changes to the deck in an attempt to make it a lot more aggro-burn- most notably, completing playsets of Lightning Bolt, Lightning Helix, Boros Charm, Spark Trooper, and 3x Deflecting Palm and 2x Monastery Swiftspear.

Between Lightning Helix, Spark Trooper, Ajani Vengeant, and Firemane Avenger, I'm hoping to have some lifegain, at least long enough to weather a storm against any other aggro decks seeing as this means this deck has somewhat of a lack of long-term board presence. I'm still hoping to have it fairly midrange still, with several battalion creatures to build toward, mainly the Frontline Medic, Firemane Avenger, and eventually Aurelia, the Warleader. A playset of Oblivion Ring rounds out the deck to get rid of any major problems countering this deck.

Notes- considering toning down the burn spells in favor of a little more diversity
