The main goal building this deck was to get the best out of creature's ETB- or general abilities so that the deck would work perfectly with Ruric Thar, the Unbowed on the battlefield. In some cases, the effect of artifacts, enchantments or sorceries was so strong that I wanted to include them, knowing and accepting that they could cost me 6 life (especially Triumph of the Hordes and Zendikar Resurgent). Sometimes, they can be cast before Ruric Thar, so they don't deal the 6 damage (Rhonas's Monument or Cindervines).

The second principle was to give Ruric Thar trample so that he would deal damage most of the time, so Archetype of Aggression or Khenra Charioteer will make this work.
